There was a post on here a while ago with a link to a jar for fermenting foods.

Has anyone bought it? I'd like to make some fermented foods...not saurkraut, tho....

I'm worried about this since my household temperature is more than 70 degrees. The instructions on the web-site says the room temp. should be between 60-70 degrees. What should I do? I'd like some advice on this before I decide to buy it.

My house temp is above that too, but I bought it anyway. You could e-mail the folks there and see what they say...
I think it will speed up the process quicker, that's all...
I just e-mailed Mike. I'll let you know what he says...

I e-mailed Mike, and here is his response...

Hi Lucy,

Warm temperatures are fine. You can make good kraut in
temperatures reaching 85 to 90 degrees F. It will
culture quicker in warm temperatures.

If you add probiotics to the kraut and the temperature
reaches 85 degrees F, it will be ready in 24 to 48
hours. If the temperature is below 75 degrees and you
add probiotics, it might take 3 to 6 days.

I will email you an article by Victorus Kulvinskas on
this subject. Thanks Lucy and have a great day!
