poor little sad girl that i am..............
didn't know the difference between a thai coconut etc.....

tried to use the thai coconut (the shell!!!! )
i thought, when i bought it, sooooo, it is not in the hairy brown shell, so THAT IS the coconut!!

i have my smoothie waiting for the coconut to add..........
and......i'm thinking it's KINDA hard, but OK..........
so I SHRED OFF PIECES AND ADD THOSE TO MY SMOOTHIE!!!! HA HA

still, i am wondering why is it so hard to get them to MIX
then, i thought well, maybe it needs to be soaked??!!

so i mix it, WHICH TAKES LIKE FOREVER.........
AND ACTUALLY TRY TO DRINK THIS MIX!!!!

see the post............. IT TOOK JAMES TO ENLIGHTEN ME, that i still have not got to the meat of the coconut!!! aghhhhhhhhh
wow, i shouldn't repeat this story!! it's toooo silly
(post --- http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19578)

and yummmmmmmmmmm

LOL!! Ya know, as you described the consistency, etc. I THOUGHT to myself, "It sounds like she's trying to use the shell" and I started to write you and ask you that...but I didn't want to offend and make you feel, well, you know.

I'm glad you got it worked out, though. I know that had to have been pretty...interesting trying to blend that shell! :p

That sounds EXACTLY like something I would do! I thought when I first saw the white coconut that that was a "skinned" brown coconut....ready to eat. Luckily I read on the boards how you "open" a thai coconut. I still haven't bought one....waiting to find one for less than $4 a piece  Thanks for sharing your funny story!!

well, i had to go out and buy a YOGURT FOR 5 BUCKS TO COUNTERACT THE PROBLEM OF EATING (NON-NUTRIONAL) YEAST........
i was actually using bakers, dry active yeast for LIKE EVERYTHING!!! i loved the taste, the cheesy taste it gave things........
UNTIL I found out --
the active dry yeast is not at all good.......... and i did not know the difference!!!
it's nutritional yeast or brewers yeast which is very good for you, only found at places like whole foods

wow------- so i go to 3 stores to find it, and then to whole foods...
the guy said i have to as a precaution take acydophillis -- each little mini (basically yogurt) cost 5 bucks!

so, lesson learned...........
