bought one the other day..... you know its white with a point wrapped up in plastic.
ok, i thought this would be soft and could cut it to put in my smoothie -- but it ripped off in strips like bark from a tree!!
i have it in the blender right now, and it is not mixing.........

what do you do with this??
i have never used coconut and was looking forward to incorporating it in my meals!! :(

please let me know what to do with this?

Hey there - you can search using the banana and you will find a whole bunch of info...plus, you can always put the lime in da coconut and drink it all up!
I actually use the milk for my morning smoothies and I freeze the innerds for "ice cream"...

it is very dense..........
i have seen regular coconut and it is soft
this THAI coconut........is hard and comes off in strips

are you suppose to soak it?
i have seen this type in the market.......all the time
it is shaped with a point, white and wrapped in plastic wrap.........

please elaborate

i know how to make smoothies, and what to add..............
if it was soft, and regular coconut flesh it would be fine.,,

BUT, WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THAI COCONUT??!!

You have OPEN the coconut first. Go to http://living-foods.com/articles/youngcoconuts.html for step-by-step photos. Don't worry, you'll soon get the hang of it.
