Hehe. I was going to post something similar. Sunday we picked up our produce from the farm. I was cutting up tomatoes and LUCKILY I dind't cut into where the worm was, but a different direction. I looked and this BRIGHT green thing was wiggling around. I freaked out lol. I'm not afraid of crawly things. It just surpirsed me...probably because they're not usually there! He ate right through the top where you pick the tomato from the vine. My dad called him "a tomato worm." I still have him haha. i kept him. I'm only keeping him until he's done eating that chunk of tomato and then i'll let him go. :D

What is a mango worm? How do you know it is in there? Sorry, but I adore mangos and never pay attention when I'm eating them--do not wish to be eating mango worms, though.

it looked like a tiny parasitic worm you see pictures of. both of them did. im pretty sure that it was just a bad batch i picked up from the co-op, because i LOVE mangos, eat them all the time, and have never had a problem before.
i wouldnt worry lady green jeans..it doesnt seem to be a common occurrence!

I have never heard of a worm in a Mango. My question is, was there any penetration marks on the Mango?

I am forever finding them in plums so am now very carefull when eating them.
I also wish to know if there was any penetration mark that I can look out for.
Was the worm in the middle of the flesh or at the core.

I'm the same way about bugs, insects, worms, whatever it is. If I see something in my food, then it goes to the garbage after I finished screaming (embarrasing but true) and then it takes a while for me to get the nerve to buy whatever the particular item is again. It's like I hold a grudge against the produce or something:D
I know they have their purpose but they are just so creepy to me.

yeah I have yet to get the nerve up to buy plums again after a whole bunch of them ended up having worms in it. :P I guess it happens all the time!

I have an apple, pear, and peach orchard and since I use no pesticides or anything they get worms. It can't be helped as far as I can see. ***Shrugs***

They are creepy crawly creatures and we are to put them under our feet. We are above the creatures, meaning we have more power than they do.
Also that's what ORGANIC is, you will always find worms etc, in most Organic food. They spray fruit and Vegs. to kill these insects., so our lives is all about Choices............
Notice a Child eat, They will take a bite, look at the food and take another bite. So lets take a lesson from the Child................
