Does anyone take any type of multi-vitamin or antioxidant supplement while eating raw? I take a barley green supplement and B-12, but didn't know if a multi will hinder my efforts or not or be a waste of $$?
I used to take a whole foods supplement, which gave me energy throughout the day...
Suggestions anyone?

I take a multi and some blue green algae. Also a B-12 and a C. I'm still researching whether or not a multi is necessary, so I'll be checking back to see what others have to say.

I personally don't take anything. But I don't think it could hurt one's raw progress to utilize some of the supplements suggested by both veggrace and rawnaturale. I have read and heard where people with advanced stages of cancer not only went raw but also used supplements because their bodies were so depleted. Of course that is an extreme situation, but many people have serious mineral and vitamin depletion along with enzyme depletion. My personal belief is, after a person is raw for several years the body will signal that these supplements are not necessary, but until then, I say GO FOR IT!l:)
Peace.

I take supplements each day because I haven't been raw long enough to judge if I'm giving myself the variety I need in order to get all the nutrients I need. I think it's going to be a learning process for me and one day I may realize I don't need them.
Right now I'm taking calcium/magnesium, omega oils 3-6-9 and B-complex.
One thing you can do if you're unsure, is go to www.fitday.com and track your intake each day. This site is free. It will break down your food intake for the day and analyze whether or not you're getting the recommended amounts of vitamins and minerals.

FYI...Fitday.com is good for aproximations but that is about it. Its not 100% accurate but its a good guideline. If you really want to know you can always purchase a calorie breakdown book. Most of them have the breakdown of all the nutrients.
If you're eating energy soup every day, the only supplement you need is B-12

I love superfoods, try out Bee Pollen, Algae, kale, and hemp seeds! I also like Vita-mineral Green and Pure Synergy on occasion.
