View Full Version : Anyone not interested/dislike transition foods?

I was just wondering if there was anyone out there like me who gravitates towards fresh fruit/veg, and really isn't interested in (or at least, doesn't see as a necessity) things like raw nut butters, raw cakes/desserts, etc. - you know, the transition kinda foods.

I mean, they're nice now and again, but I reach for fresh produce more than anything.

I don't mind eating the transition foods that you mentioned when I crave them. I find that after I do eat the transition foods, I really crave 100% fresh produce the next few days.

The best thing about the transition foods is when you have people over for dinner - this gets them interested in raw foods. A raw apple pie is much healthier for you than a baked apple pie!

I just listen to my body and cravings, and that has really been the key for my improvement in health. I consider myself high raw, but have been 100% raw for 30 days successfully.

Sometimes I get the cravings for slightly steamed veggies and they do not trigger any of my health issues that I had before. (I don't give into every craving, though.) My main thing is that as long as my allergies and asthma have vanished and I still feel full of energy and alive, then I don't really worry about how much of the transition foods I eat. It is still a lot better than how I was eating a year ago.

At the very beginning I did about three recipies - spaghetti, my own cookies, and just some soups. Other than that I didn't like them, nor could I have them from food allergies. When I did recipies it was VERY rare. Now my body is so far along in raw that I don't even desire them. I feel very heavy, lethargic, and ick after I eat recipies. I just like fresh produce. Even dehydrated fruit makes me feel ick. Watery foods are good for me :)

There are alot of recipes I don't like, but my husband is trying to transition and he has a need for them so I am preparing more and more of them.

Once in a while I still crave transition foods......maybe detox.....not sure, but mostly I just want fruits and salads and occasional nuts or avos. I usually feel heavy after I eat something dehydrated and have to drink a lot of water.

i tend to overeat when i eat the 'transition foods'

its easier for me to know when im full when i just eat a banana or an apple

To me, simulating a pizza or pasta dish with everything raw doesn't make sense. What does make sense to me is a salad with some tofu added (I ate that when my digestive system wasn't extracting all the protein from greens yet), or a burrito with raw lentils and salsa in a whole-wheat tortilla (I haven't done that yet but might in winter). But mostly I eat fruits and veggies with the occasional peanut or cashew.

-I think it's a spectrum! Hopefully if a person feels they are eating 'transitional' foods.....that the foods are indeed that.....transitional! LOL. I think everyone should be honest with the level they ARE comfortable with - and stretch from there....not hold themselves to some one else's arbitrary standard (or some guru's) Ha! ha!
