View Full Version : What next...after raw "high"

Hi Everyone,

As I roll into my second year raw I'm a bit lost.

The "high" I've experienced being raw is fading.

What I mean is, after feeling great all the time, I now want to feel even better.

I feel like a raw junkie.

What steps have long term rawies taken to stay "high"?

The newness of raw has washed away and I now want to seek another level.

Gee ,I'm starting to sound like Stillnarz. wink, wink.

Peace and happy Holidays,

M.B.

What's your diet like now Monkey Boy?

Yeah, what's the diet like now? 'Cause if it isn't already at the NH-type level, maybe that's the next level for you (??) You know...never eating improperly combined foods, no dehydrated stuff (except maybe every once in a blue moon), no spices and seasonings, just the bare-boned basics of raw foods.

OR-RRRR.....

Think going on a long fast (juice or water) would do it for ya?

OR-RRRR....

Maybe this is what you're looking 4?

Maybe try meditation. That can definitely keep you "elevated."

I like the meditation idea. If your diet has left you feeling fine but ready for more, then maybe it's time to enhance some other aspect of your life besides the diet side, since that seems to be going well. Maybe meditate, or pick up a new hobby, something like that.

Hey monkeyboy. I went to a talk by Victoria Boutanko last night and she touched on this exact thing, and I thought of you. She said the same thing recently happened to them, their high faded a little and they wanted to take it to a new level.

What they said they discovered was drinking a lot of green smoothies
--NOT green juices--with a basic ratio of 60 % fruit and 40% greens /veggies. She said she gained a new level of clarity and so much more energy drinking green smoothies everyday.

Hope that helps! If you want more info let me know...I have a 2 page article on it with recipes.

Warmly~

Carmel,
I'd like the article, also. Can you post it somewhere so we can read it without you having to email it to everyone individually?

Thanks!

Being a newbie I only know that the search for new foods is addicting in it's own way. Creating new things, some real good, some make you want to downright gag, but you continue to be curious, to seek out those things you do not know.
Looks like you still have it in you to search, dig deeper...
Mix things up, make things you have not made for a while, maybe you will discover you can recreate and make different now you have more understanding then previously.
Focus on getting to the 3rd year. Obstacles are stepping stones to success, at the end you will know how to endure and climb the next peak.

What does everyone think of starting a new thread for a Green Smoothie Fast? I'm not kidding I feel that I can do this better than a juice fast  :D It sounds so good!
Alissa just put up the date for the cruise Using this Green Smoothie should get us all looking great for that. I have already called in and ordered my ticket :D

Well, I've been incorporating green smoothies into my juice fast. So, I'm game to do them (always have liked kale in my smoothies, but Victoria's newsletter gave me more ideas - thanks Elizabeth). Are you going to start a new thread abou this in the juicing forum Flutterfly?

Flutterfly - I'm not quite ready for a fast right now but it sounds like an amazing idea. I know I'll want to do one of those sometime after I manage to get through my 30-day challenge.

MonkeyBoy - I don't know what you currently do for excercise, but if you haven't explored that avenue - excercise is one of the highest "highs" there is. Maybe you could see how you might challenge yourself physically while still maintaining raw. Todd and Andrew both muscle-build while on this diet - maybe there is something for you on a similar journey too.

Best of luck in getting your high back! :D

I just asked Rawinlocs to start a post on this. I didn't know your fast included the green drinks. I think a post with all the recipes on it would be good also. Thanks
