I also have been lurking and learning. I finally received Alissa's book and read it in 1 day. I always knew what you eat determines your health. I have already given up meat and poultry. But found it hard to create foods that were interesting. Her book is amazing.

Question: I did my shopping, created the foods for days 1-3 per the book. So, I'm all set. Organized to take my creations with me to work tomorrow. The recipes I followed to a "T". Now my husband wants to do this with me. Is there enough food in the recipes for 2 people? In the book she states to eat everything.

Or should I double the recipes? It looks like plenty to me since I bought alot of fruit and frresh veggies to fill in.

I will write tomorrow to let everyone know how it is going!

Welcome Healthy Grandma it's nice to meet you. All of the recipes in Alissas book are for more than one person, I myself have halved some of the recipes and still had leftovers so I am sure you will have enough for your hubby too. Good luck in your new journey and I am also happy that your hubby has decided to join you how wonderful I hope mine will do the same at some point. Congrats on find raw and let us know how you are both doing.
Blessings
Take care
Karen

Sure most recipes are enough for 2 or more. I am so excited for you, your husband is going on it with you.
You just have to eat enough to stay full and eating everything means, if you are still hungry, by all means eat until you are content.

I look forward to reading your new Victories..

I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW.....Welcome to MY World....

Hi Nancy,

Welcome! One thing I'd suggest in making the recipes is to make them single sized first -- as the recipe calls for (or half, as was suggested). Then make note of how many servings it makes. The problem I've run into when doubling a favorite recipe is running out of room in the food processor. Plus, you don't want to double a recipe up to find you don't like it.

Yesterday was uneventful, as long as I plan my food ahead it seems to be pretty easy. So, yesterday was successful 100% raw! This morning I awoke with a mild headache, but not bad. I did notice the only thing I missed yesterday was potato chips. So, last night I cut up a couple of potatos and put them in the dehydrator using Alissa's recipe. I will take them to work for my 3:00 snack.

Lets hope that today is the same.... I will let you know tomorrow!

Thanks for all your encouragement....it means alot and thats what gets me through the day!

That is wonderful! Congratulations on your first days... Sounds like you are well prepared and knowledgable. All positives!

I love Alissa's book too! :)

When I first started raw... I wasn't as prepared as you are... and didn't know I'd have some detox symptoms... as my body cleansed and cleared... so I was surprised... smiles... I also didn't know how wonderful I would feel overtime... eating raw. I feel light, energized... and my skin is so vibrant and clear. And, it all just gets better and better... :D

i've been lurking for months and at one point was probably 80% raw. yesterday was a 100% raw day (except for a small cup of coffee in the am) i was having a hard time last night and would have eaten the kitchen cabinets if i could, but i stuck it out and made it through. i really wanted a cup of espresso this morning but i couldn't find it in the pantry. i am craving coffee so bad. i am having the detox headache right now and it's not fun. best of luck to you grandma....

I decided to do it slowly at first. I'm 100% raw but I decided to wean myself off of coffee SLOWLY over days. I am a full time student and work so I can't afford to be down with a migraine-type headache from lack of caffeine. But, I'll get there - just won't be in 1 week thats all.

I figure I can't undo years of poor diet in 1 week. I have always eaten lots of fruits and veggies and little meat - so I should be ahead of the game already.

Best of luck everyone!

I am so amazed at how well I am doing! Yesterday started out great.....until I smelled the awful aroma of chicken soup! Made my stomach so upset....I did cheat a little and have 2 crackers. But, I did not eat anything else bad the rest of the day.

Dinner I had a craving for pizza........but, I went for a run and then my husband made a big salad for dinner. Later in the evening I made the banana ice cream.... very good and hit the spot. Today I noticed a slight sore throat...my sinuses must be draining!

Today no headache, and have been raw all day! Finding that I'm not as hungry as I used to be.... and I can go longer periods without eating.

Thank goodness the headache was a one day thing. I can put up with anything but a headache!

Thanks everyone for your encouragement!

Love,
Nancy
