hello all,
i'm fairly new to raw and read these boards sometimes and have posted a few things. i wanted to try some raw foods before venturing out to anything beyond salads, smoothies, and ice cream on my own. so here's how it ended up:

1. tried some raw fruit leather from the healthfood store.....hated it
2. flax crackers....ewww but they tasted better with peanut butter
3. raw cookies....i didn't like those either. not enough taste for me as i am use to eating foods rich in seasonings.
4. i tried some other kind of sticks, i forget what they were called..didn't like them either
5. raw cheese sticks...they were ok but i'll pass
6. THEN IT HAPPENED........RAW CHEESECAKE....man i ate piece of this stuff and couldn't believe my tastebuds! i loved it. i actually liked it way better than the regular stuff. i couldn't eat it all at once eventhough i wanted to but it was just sooooo rich in flavor that i thought i would get sick to my stomache if i ate the whole thing. i think i found a new addiction. i can't believe how much i loved this. it was music to my tastebuds.

does anyone have any other tasty suggestions for a girl who loves to actually TASTE her food? most of the things i've tasted were just too bland for me. eating right doesn't mean you have to give up good tasting food does it?
;)

Eating right doesn't mean that you have to give up good-tasting food. Just add more seasonings/flavorings to your foods. As you eat more raw, you will probably find that your tastebuds become more 'natural' as your food is more natural. Our taste buds prefer highly seasoned food when that is what they are accustomed to. When you eat raw, natural foods, you will probably find yourself desiring more natural flavors of fruits and vegetables. The beauty of raw is that when you try a recipe, you can taste it before completion and adjust to suit your tastes. Just go with what you enjoy now and delight in your own personal raw journey!

Do you have Alissa's book? Every single recipe I have tried out of that book is packed with flavor! (and color)

What raw cheesecake recipie are you talking about? I would love the recipie!

My advice is to just keep experimenting and you'll find what you like and what you don't. I would recommend Alissa's book too.

Alissa's book is a must! There are some fantastic recipes in there. My favorite is her angel hair with marinara sauce.
