So, I have been messing around with this raw thing for about a month, and I have been 100% raw for the past 8 days, and last night after a big run I say to the Boy, "hey, lets go get some mexican food!" (I'm thinking big green salad with a huge scoop of guac bathed in that fresh salsa) and he is like "Can you even eat anything there? We could go to Top Foods, I am pretty sure they serve melon in the deli." So I told him about the salad I was drooling over and he says "I thought you were on an all fruit diet." Buh?!?!?!? The only thing I can think of is that he thought I said raw fruit instead of raw food and the fact that for the most part I have been eating mostly fruit when I am around him, because breakfast is the meal we most commonly share... Then, on the other hand I remember him telling one of our friends that invited us to dinner that I was on a raw diet, so I don't know if he was just being a wierdo or not thinking hard enough.... hehe, the point is, I made a bunch fo great food for myself today since I am going to a festival all day tomorrow I wanted to have really yummy stuff so I didn't buy fest food like the really yummy fried stuff they serve at booths. So I made "Pesto Pasta" which is basically Alissa's Fettichini Alfredo blended with tons of basil, some sprouted wheat pilaf, nori rolls filled with jicama/pine nut "rice," ginger, avo and all sorts of good stuff, and a jar of thai coconut soup... oh, and choco halva for dessert... and a bottle of raw mojitos for tonite...(wine instead of rum).... and I'm gonna share with him and show him my yummy diet.... I'll let you know how it goes!!!!!

I had to de program my dh on my "raw diet". He would tell those who invited us here and there "well Leslie is on a all Raw Vegan Diet...". I got tired of explaining and the "advice " I got. SO now my husband thinks I just choose to eat mostly fruits and veggies. I even went as far as putting cooked food on my plate at dinners ...did not eat it...but people do not notice that ...but when dh announces it it put a damper on a dinner as friends spend there time convincing meat is good, potato's are good....

best wishes on your journey !

geez, figure... that sounds frustrating.. so far I haven't told many people, but most people I have told have been really cool about it and not tried to give me advice.... The boy ended up loving the food except for the soup, because I like much spicer things than he does... but he loved the pesto pasta.... I avtually did post the recipe for the soup in the recipe section under Thai coconut soup and the pesto pasta was just Alissa's fettechini alfredo with basil blended in.... yum yum....
