Can someone tell me how to sprout wild rice. I am trying to make Alissa's gourmet pizza and the rice will not sprout. This is the second time I have tried. That is my favorite crust but the chewey rice. Can you tell me what sprouted rice looks like? Does it have tails

Did you ever find out? I am wondering too what sprouted rice looks like -- Mine did not show any evidence of roots, and I'm wondering if it was irradiated or something and not really live. And it was not "quick wild rice", which I assume has been pre-cooked in some way.

If you've got black wild rice it's roasted during the husking processes. In the USA there is raw wild rice on the market now. I have heard it's sort of green but never seen it personally.

Regular wild rice will not sprout. Some soak it for days and it will get softer and split. But it will not grow tails or grow in any way. It would be you're trying to grow cooked rice!

Thanks! Good to know I was not doing anything wrong, but that the rice was not raw.

I searched through past discussions to find more info and found an informative thread at:
