Thanks for the shout out! I just did a short fast while I was having that bladder issue. I am very much enjoying my raw food. I am considering doing a raw fast on my 6 month 100% raw anniversary if I am feeling it. Doing great here. Having an awesome time. I have really been growing in so many aspects of my life these past few months. My happyist moment was Wednesday, my hubby got a new job that allows us more freedom to spend time together and dedicate more time to things we feel are more important in life. Life is sooo good! I am cheering you on to reach your goals. I know you can do it!

Rainbow!!!!!!!! I did not have time to respond the other day.
Great to see you making it thru the deeper level of fasting.......
I did for a short while but my "mind" has been elsewhere and I had to allow the hands of fate take my thru the trail to where I am now.
I began fasting again last night starting dinner time........my body, mind and spirit is taking be back to the fasting I did in December 2005. Where it only wants the same music, noise and smells................been quite interesting.
You are doing so great........the brain starts healing by 21st day generally speaking.........can you share what you have been exeriencing??? I loved day 12 and day 25----chat soon :)
You are inspirational dear Rainbow!!!!!

I just went 100%RAW 7-25-06.( not gradual...cold turkey) I have been doing fantabulous until yesterday 9-1-06. It was my son's 8th birthday and we went to a burger joint.....UGH! I was able to bypass the burgers but fell to a barely warm Boca Burger with lettuce and tomato ...NO BREAD , also had a salad with v&o....and unfortunately 4 french fries...felt like trash afterward like I knew I would. Today was a little worse....2 small pcs. of cheap, crappy frozen pizza.
I have tried so many of Alissa's faux meat and cracker recipes.....just can't seem to stomach them for more than one serving. (seems to be so wasteful) Up until then I was doing great....lost 15#s (still off)....but body discomforts came back REAL quick.
Some days I am SO cool with this....the days when it is just me and my family. My three children and husband have been nothing but encouraging to me and game to try a bite of everything I make. (facial expressions are fun!) the struggle is when it is entertaining our cooked food friends or going to resturants ( which we routinely do Sundays after church).
The question is...have I lost ground? I have 60#s left to go and would like to be able to stay RAW and bring my family in too.
It is a day to day venture....some are easier than others. Any helpful tips?
REALLY I NEED SOME BIGTIME HELP!
I cannot afford to stop now.

Well this raw forum is so loaded with wonderful support to keep you on your raw journey. Keep in touch with it at least until you can get over the hump. There are alot of the recipes that I like and alot I don't. Try cutting the recipes to 1 serving so you can try them and if you don't like them you don't feel so bad about throwing it out if you don't like it. Only eat what you love. Some of my favorites are Guacomole and a bed of lettuce, hummus w/celery, green sunny patte on celery, flaxseed cracker, Alissa's Angel hair with marinara, nut date balls, Rp's Brownies, Coleslaw using Doe's mayonaise, Nori rolls, Alissa's Mud Slide, Banana Date Smoothies (well any smoothie actually, LOL). These are this I love. I keep experimenting and find other things I love. If I don't like it I don't eat and I find something I do want to eat. You may just be one that may not be into too much recipe stuff and more whole foods. I usually eat 1 recipe a day (not including smoothies).
I am an evening and social eater. What works for me is I have whole fruit in the morning or a smoothie or both, LOL! Then I snack on whole fruit the rest of the morning. Lunch for me is usual social due to my work. I will usually eat some fruit before I head out for lunch and then I usually pick the resteraunt so I can get something I like and will enjoy. Mexican is my fav. I don't have to tell them what I want they just serve they and they know exactly how to make my order. It took a few practice runs the first couple visits, but they finally got it. If I don't have a social lunch then I usually eat fruit through lunch and at dinner will have a salad with avocado or hummus or sunny patte or whatever.
Eat and stay satisfied. When you are first going raw the first month or 2 I think staying satisfied is the most important thing for me. If I allowed myself to get in a spot where I was hungry it took all my power to eat something raw. I wanted cooked food! I did get in these spots a few times and I fault through them. I never leave home without a bag of fruit and raisens and seeds anymore. Drastic mistake for me to do so.
Every Sunday after services I head out to eat and I apply the same thing as above that I do at lunch. It is doable.
The family will stay supportive so long as you don't push it on them.
Some tips that have helped me:
Set a short term goal for this month. Like mine right now is too get my hair healthier this month, to increase my biking, more personal study of the scriptures, lose 2 pounds.
I only weigh one time a month. Believe me this is not easy, especially on those days when I feel so much lighter and just dying to get on the scales. It helps me in knowing that if I eat cooked it may effect my weigh day and reporting it here to everyone makes me feel accountable for my actions.
One meal at a time. For example: "man I really want french fries, hmmm, I could make some raw french fries but they take too long in the dehydrator". Instead of caving and eating them I eat something raw that I find very satisfy, Like an guacomole on letucce. If I am still craving french fries then I may have something else like nuts, seeds, or crackers. Whatever I have to do. Just take it one meal at a time. Just say "I am going to get through this craving or this meal and stay raw this meal and then the next you do the samething. I am still just taking one meal at a time.
Keep it simple!
I am cheering you on! You can do this. The above tips are things that work for me. If you can take something away from it that helps you, great, but whatever you do find the way that works best for YOU! We are all different and have many different needs.
Alissa's book is something I do a quick read through at least once a month. It helps me to remember the basics and keeps me focus and doesn't allow make this lifestyle more complicated then it really is.
Much Raw Love,
Lay-Lay

Dear Misslinda,
Thanks for your message to encourage me to keep on. I have passed 21 and target day 30. The brain starts healing as you said. I have a lot of energy. I seem to forget what tiredness is. Last weekend, I was on the spiritual meditation over night. I looked around in the middle of night, all the people lay down to sleep, and I did not feel a single bit of sleeping and tireness. Several sisters said to me I look very healthy and strong and they could not believe that I am on fasting.
I am still in the sever detox in the spine and I feel it is getting better day by day. I wish I can continue till I am all done.
How are your fasting going? You seem to have quite awarness of your spiritual world. I do wish God guide you to discover your greatest True Self.
with peace and love to you,
