My feet are terribly dry, cracked and soar to walk on. Same with my lips. Any advice on what I should add more of? And possibly a natural topical healing agent as well.

Thank You Everyone,

Try coconut oil. Whether it's just a matter of dry skin or you have a fungual condition it will alleviate either one. Eating it would be beneficial but apply it externally as well.

I second coconut oil! One of my pet rats had weird scabs/sores all over his body and I oiled him up and they were gone a couple days later!

Jenna- sounds like quite the sight to behold.- :D How did you get a Rat to stop wiggling while you oiled him up...ROFLOL... :)

You crack me up...

BTW- I ditto the coconut oil advise. I notice when I add it to my smoothies that my skin really softens.

Ditto the ditto on the coconut oil. Rub some on your feet at night then put socks on so you don't drown your sheets. It's great on lips too

Applying the coconut oil will work, but you are only treating the symptoms, much like conventional medicine only treats the symptoms. If you have dry skin you are most likely not eating enough good fats.

Best oil you can eat in my humble opinion is Udo's Choice Oil Blend. Can also use Organic Unrefined Hemp Oil.

Flax oil will work also but it contains too much omega3s so prolonged use could cause problems.

More fats may be needed in your diet, but for external some olive oil is always refreshing.

I second the UDO's oil. My Kids used to make fun of my hubby's feet and call him "puzzle feet" due to all of the deep cracks in his heels. I started giving him a dose of oils daily, and his heeld healed up quick!

How much water do you drink? I found that once I started drinking at LEAST 8 8oz glasses of water (well, 2 refills of a nalgene 1L bottle) I no longer have dry lips or skin, even here in Canada!! We'll see when the winter comes again, but that is my advice :)
