I've been into organic food for my whole life (I have good parents) because I don't like to eat poison... but at the same time, I haven't been religious about it, I just try to do the best I can with what is available and what I can afford... however, now that I am doing so much cleansing by eating raw food I feel a little more worried about the poison I do consume affecting my body more.... but I really can't afford to eat all organic. I kept track today and I believe that I eat about 50-70% organic on a daily basis, with most of my produce being organic and my nut and seeds less likely to be so... basically because organic nuts are soooo much more expensive, even at the co-op, and I can get huge quantities of non-organic RAW nuts ar Costco.... I'm curious if anyone has had any real experiences in the difference between having a 50-70% organic diet vs 100%.... I know 100% is better, but I also know that eating raw is better than going back to eating organic tv dinners....

Do waht you can. I believe being 100% raw and non organic is better than 0% raw with organic.
I've been experimenting August with organic versus not. I've been completely organic every day except maybe 4. EACH day I've had non-organic it was cravings for the chemicals. I got the beginning of a migrane EACH time and I just had a general feeling of "blah, I feel like crap and so icky inside." This morning I didn't have much organic for breakfast at all so I hate one non-organic tomato in addition and almost instantly i had the beginning of a mirane and that icky feeling inside. It didn't last too long because the rest of the day i've been organic instead of craving it again. Plus that tomato had absolutely NO flavor what-so-ever!

wow, thanks for sharing your experience... that is exactly what I was curious about... I figured when I was eating cooked any effects were probably hidden in other body noise, but it is interesting that once you went raw it had such a bigger effect.

I am not 100% organic. Would love to be someday. I sure do feel the wonderful effects of being 100% raw.

- A plant can make its own vitamins, but can't make minerals by itself.
- So every mineral in for example a tomato is coming from the ground
and stuff that you add to the ground
- A normal tomato has 20 minerals or so, but is is possible to create a perfect looking totmato which only posesses 3 minerals
- I have read the advise to enrich the ground of your garden with seawater
for mineralsupply.
This all for the story abount organic versus non-organic

There are several strategies for improving the mineral content of the soil given.
It is true - our health is only as good as the health of the foods we eat, which are only as good as the health of the soil in which they were grown!!!
Some believe that the 'mysterious' disappearance of ancient civilizations like the Incas is due to poor health as a result of over farming on the soil which depleted the minerals which eventually caused weakened health in the people making them susceptible to disease.
The same thing is happening now in our 'advanced' civilization. Throw in genetic engineering and it's just a matter of time.

And I tought these old civilizations did fade away, because they took out all
the plants and trees, and nothing was left.
But it could have been the spoiling of the soil!
