I have been yelling a lot lately it seems like and was wondering if 15 minutes of deep breathing yelling counted as exercise.
thanks

If you put a lot of energy into it. :p
However, I'm not sure how good it is for well being in general. :)

Maybe, but it's really really bad for your voice and energy level.

As far as well being it makes me feel better. The idiots that I have been yelling at do not care if they feel better.
As far as for the voice there is that issue of yelling two much but, if you yelled in your natural octave range that would be okay.
Energy definitely wanes after a good yell. Thats one reason I was thinking about calling it exercise.

Oh Gosh, I sure wouldn't do that, it would be bringing in such challenging energy, unless you were yelling "I LOVE the planet" or something, I still wouldn't do it. maybe a yip and yahoo, once in a while, but not for 15 minutes, you could sing loud if you want,
of course, you can do anything you want, I just wouldnt' do it.

I think after much consideration and cooling down a bit I won't take up this exercise regiment.
Too strenous, I think I will consider running or biking or something.
Have agreat day guys

I don't mean this in any way sarcastic, but,
are you seroius??? Who are you yelling at that it totally drains your energy?
I know what is like to feel mad, really......
But I haven't yelled for 15 minutes at a stretch, and never on a consistent enough basis to drop weight because of it....

Interesting, I grunt and yell more in lower tones---in the car. I view it as a isolated part of the body wanting to expel trapped energy or facilitate more movement. We all handle "blockages" differnetly. I don't see any harm but to purposely do it may cause throat concerns.
HOw do you feel when you do it?

It depends on what your yelling!
If your yelling something like this: Iam the greatest, I am awesome - everything I do is awesome - I live in abundance !!!!! Will then it's cool, IMO :D
But like some other the others have said if your cussing out somebody, our degrading them or yelling at a thing, then your really effecting your self in a negitive manner, which will hurt your outlook.
I suppose it would be a form of air breathing excercises  :D

I have to disagree to a length with a few here.
If her natural yelling endeavors entail "negativity" whether directly at soemone or not, perhaps this is her release on a path to "self love"
I mean, how many times do we say hurtful things t ourselves and others THEN find ourselves processing to discover what we truly desire......love,acceptance etc
Again, only my opinion.
Yell at your discretion :p

I read somewhere that if you hollered for something like 6 years and 8 months that you would expend enough energy to heat up a cup of coffee.

Yelling is not an exercise........it will burn calories.........But an exercise it is not. It will not add a muscle to any part of your body............

:) I rawfully disagree. Exercise is not limited to just muscle adding ones, Exercise is merely employing movement. Walking doesn't add muscle but is an exercise, breathing can be an exercise........ :)

There you go. That is info we can work with folks. I got to tell you that if it takes 6 years to heat a cup of coffee though I might want to stay raw and conserve that energy. Especially since hubby is removing the stove this weekend.

They probably are cause I figure they mute their phone and let me vent. Too bad they cannot fix the problem in the first place. My yellowbook add still has another businesses logo with it instead of mine.
Oh well, enough said because, Just thinking about it drains energy and my computer is complaining I am pounding the keys to hard so I better stop. LOL

I see your frustration but the way you handled the problem was demeaning to other humans.
I feel for customer service people. They really put up with a lot of abuse.
case in point - Alissa's cs person, Sweetgoddess was yelled at by a woman who's order was not handled to her liking. When she found out SG's husband had Cancer, the woman went so far as to tell SG that she hoped her husband would die. How horrible is that.
Just remember that we are all human beings, and even though some of us may seem to have thick skin, everyone has a breaking point.
Even though you believe they put you on mute while you were yelling, for all you know, you could have gotten someone on a bad day, and this person could have been bruised for days after this, possibly losing sleep.
So please think carefully about taking your anger out on others. It is better to yell and scream in a room by yourself than to take it out on people.

Congrats on ditching the stove. In regards to yelling I find it is not good for me. It makes me feel bad. Now I do like to scream on ocassion, not at anyone, just as a release of everything when I am alone. I feel so free afterwards.

I work in customer service, and believe me, it is extremely unpleasant sometimes. I WISH that I could mute my phone so many times but alas, such a thing is not possible.....
Are you talking about customer service, or just to the air?

I never yell at customer service I am actually very polite when I am really disgruntled. I usually go straight to the top if I really feel the opportunity to yell is necessary. Cause I do not believe customer service agents are paid enough to put up with me yelling at them for what a salesman or manager of a company did.
Bottomline the particular incident in question was the yellowbook ad came out for my company and I signed off on proofs for the printing and everything but, someone made a major blunder and put my ad with another companies logo and vice versa and the really hillarious part is we are not even in the same section of the yellow book.
I only yelled at the head of sales. And then never actually raised my voice over a pleasant level just thought a lot about it and got to wondering if yelling could be considered an exercise.

my dh is getting lots of exercise, he yelled at me 15 min two nights in a row.  He made me feel bad doing it especially when i did not deserve the wrath.
So yelling is not really a very good exercise, it creates hard feeling and alienate's people, no positive energy in it, but I think this thread has already determined that !
