Alot of alissa's recipes call for vanilla. How does that work. Can you get a raw extract, or do you get it from a vanilla bean? Any helps would be great, Thanks

No it is not raw.
It is mainly used in small amounts to flavor recipes.
If you are in transition and using recipes anyway, it shouldn't be a problem.
You can use vanilla beans, by scraping the inside seeds out.

YEP, Sharon is right, not raw, I use fresh vanilla beans, oh so yummy and super delicious, nothing like them, you'll never use vanilla extract again.LOL

RP,
How do you use the vanilla beans? Do you chop them up, or soak them, or just use the seeds? I have some but have been to confused to know what to do with them!
Thanks,
emily

can anyone tell me the best way to store vanilla beans so they don't lose flavor or dry out/become brittle? TIA :)
many blessings,
shelah
