how can I use fenugreek seeds? they are very hard... will they grind easily in a coffee grinder? they sprout nicely... but I want to use them right away.

Why not? Just experiment! Oh, and then let us know ;)

because I don't want to break the blades in my coffee grinder, so I thought I would ask first. ;)

Oh - good point! If they sprout easily then, I'd use them that way...

They sprout very easily and form lucious, strong sprouts. They made me smell, however - for three days after eating them - a sort of curry aroma. At the time it was very inconvenient but, with hindsight, I suspect it's because they are powerful in their own right. Any ideas or explanations?

I think they smell and taste like maple syrup! I love them. I would soak them and sprout the seeds and eat them and then do something with the maple flavored water to add a unique taste to a dish.

yes, I love sprouting them.... great flavor! but wanted to use some powdered/ground, so i don't have to wait for them to sprout. just wondering if a Kitchen Aid coffee grinder will handle it. those seeds are hard as rocks. I will carefully test a few anyway to see. thanks everyone :)

They are very hard and making them to a powder would be great but I wouldn't try it in a coffee grinder. Do you have a good mortar and pestle? I have a lovely marble one and highly recommend getting one. Get either granite or marble if you can and do it that way.
