Posted at meet and greet.....no reply.
So I will attempt here.
I am 34 days 100% RAW
Doing alright....lost 15#s and 50% less pain. This IS GOOD!!!
Needing to the in's and out's of staying RAW.
I have made my original goal of 30 days....now going for 90....I find it easier to make smaller goals and work my way up.
Have found eating RAW to be mostly enjoyable , yet still ocassionally struggle with wanting warm cooked food. Is it normal?
The results so far are encouraging but some days are still hard.
Need some tips!!!!!

Welcome! That's how you have to do it...small goals so you don't overwhelm yourself. First I started with a day, then week, then month, then 3 months, and i just reached my goal of 6 months this past Sunday. My next goal is 1 year.

Welcome and GREAT going!!

Yep, it's very normal and common to desire something warm and/or cooked.

Do you own a dehydrator? If so, you can "warm" things in there or you can make raw soups and warm on the stove just until your pinky finger can rest comfortably in it without being burned.

But sometimes the desires for cooked foods comes from emotional triggers or just your body trying to cleanse and release the old stuff from your past cooked food-eating days.

As Dreamrawalwz said, small steps. And if you DO yield to the temptation/cravings/desires for cooked food do NOT beat yourself up over it...just continue on and don't give up.

Yes you just found a wonderful place. This place calls me a root but I think that you are further along than myself because I am just what they call here "high raw". This is the absolutely best forum I have ever visited for any topic - not just raw. There is a whole world of information here. Welcome!

Thanks you guys! The encouragement is highly needed and appreciated.
Does anyone have advice on supplements?
And what do you do when you have family members that are 100% for "The Zone" diet? You know they are big on...."where do you get your protien from?"
I find it awkward and sometimes difficult having to explain what I am doing...all I really got is that I was desperate after trying everything else...the pain was too great in my body and the weight has to go. This is working....but you know how people question and look at you weird.
Oh well...it is working for me.
Thanks again.

I don't have the time to find it for you but there is so much here. I found a link somewhere on here that took me to a site where they explain why supplements are not a good idea. I remember in the '80's when they were marketing B vitamins for stress. It became public knowledge that the B's work well together so isolating 1 or 2 of them in a supplement was not going to be effective. Well most of your other nutrients work the same way. They won't absorb right or won't have the right things to work with if they are not ingested in their natural state. Well - this truth really resonates with me so I am interested in finding the right foods for my problems. Probiotics are big with raw people but I don't have any right now (haven't for weeks) and I am not sure of what I am missing with them - also there are many marketed that are virtually ineffective and I need to find one that works well without costing a fortune. I do have some medical problems and we spent hundreds of dollars at the health food store before going raw so I am finishing that off because I am taking the red yeast rice for my super high cholesterol and Omega3 fish oils for my heart. I don't plan on replacing these items once they are done however if my cholesterol is still through the roof I don't know what I will do....fi going raw AND taking the red yeast rice and all that other stuff can't get it down I don't know what will. I don't want to explain to anybody (at work). Just watch and learn. If they want to learn about it I am not their encyclopedia.....I don't know enough yet......and I haven't been doing this very long at all. Maybe when I am really showing raw results after 8 months or a year I will start answering questions. I have been feeling safe on here but I really don't care to answer questions to anyone other than my family on something like this or like a co-worker who is trying all the Rx's for the same conditions that I have. I refuse the drugs and try holistic and raw and she is in danger of losing her job due to the effects of the Rx's - so I have tried to talk to her a bit but she is very resistant.

You are in 50% less pain, that is remarkable, that is enough to make you want to run on until the end. The best is yet to come. Think on these things when temptations come. You are simple MAR ----VE..........LOUS............
