Okay, I have some birthday money burning a hole in my pocket and am so excited to spend it on a raw book.
I already have Alissa's book and lots of other recipe books, but I would like a book more specific to raw foods and healing, which also include recipes.
I have about 40 bucks to spend on a book and was wondering if I should get David Wolfe's Sunfood Diet Success System OR was also considering Brian Clement's book, Living Foods for Optimum Health. I was leaning toward Sunfood Diet... but then read a thread recently and someone mentioned they were not thrille with it and were going to return it.
So, what is your opinion? Which one is best? or, can you recommend another even better one?

I have David Wolfe's...it's good for a beginner. For healing books specifically, I'd turn to Ann Wigmore. She's healed herself of a whole slew of ailments (gangrene, cancer, grey hair, etc.) and she's honest, open-hearted, and isn't trying to sell you anything.
Have fun!

Sure. I'm a big fan of Gabriel Cousens Conscious Eating. Check it out - if you get a chance. Very scientific and rather thorough! :)

Bridget Mars, I think that is her name, has one called Rawsome. She features a lot of information on different foods, their benefits towards health, and some excellent recipes.

I don't mean to sound disrespectful but How did Ann Wigmore die? If she was so healthy and cured and truly raw, then why is she dead? Was it an ailment that killed her or something else? I'm curious.

She died of smoke inhalation when the building she was working in caught fire.
So it wasn't because of something she did or didn't do regarding her diet.
why is she dead?
Yes, I've heard that too, that Ann Wigmore died in a fire. I believe she was old and healthy when she died, so it wasn't any sickness. And by the way, raw or not, sooner or later, we all must go :)

That was probably me.
Don't let it put you off - there are plenty of people who love it (I was disappointed with it and sent it back - along with Shazzie's 'Detox Your World' - the same day I had it). It's certainly a beautiful book, but the overall style (writing style, topics, poems, etc.) just didn't get me excited at all.
For healing, definitely Anne Whigmore. IMO, one of the most important books to read, from someone with a long history in raw. I also like the older books from the 19th century (Arnold Ahret) and from the early 20th c (Bragg). For delicious recipes from some amazing chefs, definitely Raw Food, Real World. Amazing recipes!
Anne Wigmore has several books. Which one are you referring too?

Oh how tragic. To think that so many of our most good and influential people often end up getting their lives cut short. I'm interested in her books. I had never heard of her before.
