Hi, I am just beginning a raw diet 100% raw. I had eaten about an 80% raw diet during my pregenancy and for the 15 months after my daughter was born while I was nursing. Now I am ready to go 100% raw. I just bought Alissa's book and am waiting anxiously for it to arrive :) In the meantime, until it comes does anyone have any suggestions on getting started now or should I wait until I get the book?

Thanks.

Hey Rosewell - just lurk around on the board here. You will find a lot of your questions will be answered. Use the banana up top  and do a search. I have learned a whole bunch this way.
Welcome to the raw world!!!

Welcome and congrats on embarking upon this wonderful way of life!

Yes, by all means you can get started now simply by getting some of the fruits and veggies you love the most and eating as much of them as your heart desires! Also, check out our recipe section here on the site as there are some wonderfully tasty recipes and pictures that will have you drooling all over your keyboard! :D

I'm glad you ordered Alissa's book...you're gonna love it and find it to really give you even more motivation and inspiration to get started.

Try to find a raw buddy that you can prepare food together with and have some good conversations. I know that when I first started on my raw journey, I did it alone and I really craved to eat my meals with someone who also had a raw passion.

I suggest that you include a green smoothie every day (if you are not doing so already)

Have fun playing with your food. Don't set a bunch of rules on yourself. Just eat raw. Throw counting fat and calories and carbs out the window. HAVE FUN!

How exciting this is. We've got a raw virgin here folks! :D

This is the funnest time to go raw. The first time when you see all the changes happening so clearly.

While you are waiting for your book, check this site out - there's a ton of recipes. www.fromsadtoraw.com

Like the others said just eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies and whatever else that looks good to you. Raw almonds and other nuts to keep you satisfied.

Welcome! You are doing yourself a great service by going raw! You will LOVE the results if you stick with it! I second what Rawkinlocs said, write a list of all the fruits and veggies you like and go out and buy them and start eating them. An easy simple plan is fruit all day and a large salad for dinner.

All the best,

Audrey

Yup - just eat raw stuff and don't worry about the recipes all at once. This is such good timing because you have the chance to teach your baby to love fruits and vegetables!
