...I“m travelling around Europe at the moment and have no fixed address.
Is the book stocked in any book stores...anywhere? Or do I need to wait three months until I return home?
I am so desperate to read it. I really feel I am going to make a breakthrough after reading it.
I would like to go 100% raw, but there is something holding me back. I feel that this book will make a difference for me.
I am travelling to a lot of festivals or catching rides in peoples“vans (my boyfriend and I). We are speeding across the continent...and not often stopping for long in cities. Fruit and vegetables I can easily access (most of the time), but all of the other raw food that makes eating raw easy, I have not been able to find... Plus, I can“t carry any equipment. I don“t feel that I am able to eat just whole fruit and vegetables yet. I saw a Lara bar in London (for the first time)...but it would have been about $8 in Australian currency, so not at all justifiable, for something so small.
Any advice anyone?
Ah yes - the first (and only) time I had a Larabar was from Selfridges in London a few weeks back.
Really, the only advice I can give is
- wait until you're home to get Alissa's book as there really seems no way for you to get it mail order at the moment
- start eating the raw foods you can get (I'm pretty much limited to fruits and veg myself, along with a few nuts and dried fruits), even if it's just for about 70% of your diet
- come on here for support

sooboopa,
VSL is right, Alissa's book is best available by mail order. There are some stores in California that have it though.
Why don't you check back with Alissa's team - it's a great bunch of people, very helpful and quick with answering.
There is a health food store in the Netherlands that might have it or might be able to help you: http://www.unlimitedhealth.nl/
Otherwise I suggest to eat as raw as possible and stay strong. Fruits, veggies, salads and nuts, maybe some dried fruit - it's not gourmet raw, but it's raw and nourishing.
cheers,

Having spent a year traveling - on the rough, I would not recommend getting her book until you are more settled as it is VERY BIG AND HEAVY!!!
But when you are settled go for it is is wonderful!

Hope you find a way to get the Book sooner. But you can always just eat Salads and Fruit. Also snoop around a book store and see if you can find another book to snack on until you can get Alissa's book.
I wish you everything you need to stay RAW............

Thanks everyone.
I“ve lost the desperation I had the other day and am feeling satisfied with my transition plan. (I“m in Portugal at the moment.) Sometimes I get this feeling that I must go 100% raw overnight and that Alissa“s book will give me the inspiration to do so...but every time I try going 100% raw cold turkey, I can“t last long...especially travelling, when sometimes I can only get some average fruit and a wrinkly old cucumber.
I know there are two camps...100% raw cold turkey...and a transition. For me, the advantage to the second path, is that I don“t venture so far out of my comfort zone that the emotional and physical detox overwhelms me. I understand the thinking behind going 100% raw straight off though. I used to eat totally raw except for one cooked meal a week, so I don“t think I“m necessarily an all-or-nothing person.
If I had my own personal raw chef who could prepare Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner for me, with snacks...plus liase with restaurants I“m sure I could go raw overnight...
"Raw Chef. Can you please prepare for tomorrow?
Breakfast - Raw muesli with coconut custard and raspberry sauce...
Snack - Cherry peach juice
Lunch - Raw enchiladas with salad
Snack - Raw cinnamon, banana, blueberry ice-cream with a raw cacao fudge sauce
Dinner - Raw soup, Green Smoothie, Raw cheese-burger, Raw cookies
Oh, and Raw Chef, can you please speak to the manager at El Guapos. I am going tomorrow night at 8pm...can you please deliver my raw nachos and raw sangria at 7:30pm..."

Could we please share your Raw Chef ;)
I also chose the transition, cold turkey proved to be not right for me.
Good luck with everything, have a great trip in Europe!

No problem Mad Mel. I'll just eat simply for a while and fly him over to keep you on track for a few weeks. Ask him to make his Strawberry Cream Pie. It is divine. (His name is Vaugn.)

LOL. Vaughn. Very funny. Cold turkey worked for me, but I could never have done it traveling. I couldn't even have transitioned to raw while traveling. Kudos to you!
