My scalp is sooooo incredibly itchy. :(

My mouth tastes awful. :(

I have little hard bumps forming on my arms and neck.

I have a painful hard boil or something on my forehead.

I have a headache.

I suppose this is some detox, but gawd, how uncomfortable!

I apologize for being so whiny. This is my fourth day 100% raw. Day 1 sucked, day 2 and 3 I felt really great and clear, and now this just hit me this evening, BAM! All at once.

Does anyone have any suggestions for my itchy scalp? This is the most bothersome right now. I try not to scratch, but it's hard to type when I'm sitting on my hands :p

There was a great thread here once that listed everyones detox symtoms - gross but misery loves company!

If anyone knows that thread can you give it here? I think Revell may have started it but I am not sure - have to put the kids to but I will have a look for it later :o

Why is that I wonder, the misery loving company thing? I catch myself thinking, oh thank gosh I'm not the only one going through ______, and then I wonder why in the heck would I be GLAD someone else was suffering too?

So I hope my misery has NO company at all tonight ;)

I have a painful hard boil or something on my forehead.

i have 2 of those! 0ne's kinda right on the crown of my forehead ~ near my hairline, and the other one is right above my eyebrow. They hurt like heck too!

Silly detox.... *Shakes head*

Haven't gotten any weird bumps yet, except on my face. i'm ready for anything though.

I was searching other threads about itchy scalp and I guess I'll just have to suck it up and hope it passes soon enough...

I don't have any coconut oil or tea tree oil or anything like that. I haven't used any product on my hair for more than 2 weeks now, no shampoo or conditioner or anything.

The flakes are pretty disgusting though. How can I go to work with these chunks of my skin floating all over the place? Ewwww!!! Of course I have super dark hair so they all show up like flashing lights at night.

Is it bad to just scratch the heck outta my head until it flakes no more?

You could wear a hat.... >.>

i've been on this WO [Water Only] deal, to take care of my hair ~ and my hair is producing A LOT of oils. (Just because i used to use shampoo so much, which dried out my hair.) While i'm waiting for things to stabilize, i'm wearing a hat. It works well, and looks cool too! :p

Just don't start using dandruff shampoo.. that stuff is horrible.

Have you tried or considered trying apple cider vinegar for the scalp?

It usually works great as a rinse to aid in relieving dandruff, severe dandruff and just itchy scalp. You can dilute it with water but I've read some who use it full strength. Some use it as a final rinse meaning they do NOT rinse it out...but you can leave it in for an hour and then rinse it out.

It may tingle if you've been scratching, but it subsides rather quickly and you can also add a few drops of essential oil if you have any, but it's not necessary. The vinegar smell will dissipate once your hair is dry, so don't worry about smelling like vinegar!

Once it's in your hair and if you plan to let it sit for an hour and then rinse, make sure to have a towel handy to catch the drippings running off so it doesn't get into your eyes!

Now this I CAN try! I have some apple cider vinegar in the cupboard...

Going right now to drench my head and find sweet relief, let's hope

Thanks for the idea!

Hope you feel better soon. I know you will. Detox are such a pain, but I am so thankful that I am ridding my body of so many toxins.

I agree with rawkinlocs apple cider vinegar. It is great in a bath as well. I use it when I travel it takes away negativity and electomagnetic pollotion from the aura as well. So I would highly recomend it if you are detoxing both drinking it and soaking in it.

I mix one teaspoon each of honey and apple cider vinegar and pour hot water in a cup and drink...you can add a touch of cayenne. If you are not having honey use agave.

good luck

You will feel oh so much better after the rinse. A C V is good for so many things that ail you.
I am so fortunate I have only had a headache and weakness, which I think was hunger.
Are you feelin' better now?

* In awe of you *

Wow, you have admirable detox symptoms !!! HOw bout try some essential oils of sweet orange and rosemary dilluted with water and run thru your scalp.

You may even try refraining from eating or eating lightly so your body can detox more efficiently.

Lots of deep breathing and a nice detox bath is a winner too!

Embrace them

You are cleaning house and it is working!

Think of all the things you have done to your body and it is letting them out and repairing the damage.

Hang in there it will pass :)

I know how you feel exactly!!
I've been 100% since august 8, and the first two weeks were great - no detox, but clear skin, eyes and lots of energy. And then....at the beginning of my third week it hit me: Itchy scalp (I was sure I had lice!!), dry eyes in the morning, sore throat, small bumps on my forehead (Uarks - weren't raw supposed to clear up acne  :o ) - I'm really hoping I'll be over this soon, cause DTX sucks bigtime. I feel your pain :)

Thanks everyone for your replies. I took most suggestions and ran with them :D

Rinsed my hair with the apple cider vinegar (can't seem to get rid of the smell entirely though, I better rinse again  )

Drank some hot water with apple cider vinegar too. Not bad.

This morning I have passed up my usual smoothie in favour of simple juice, carrot-apple-beet. A green juice would've been better but I don't think jalapeno juice would be as soothing as say, cucumber-fennel-cilantro :p

The essential oils sounded so lovely, I used lavendar, which is all I have, on my skin and the redness of that huge boil thing has really reduced (Yay!)

I feel slightly better today.. well, maybe. Now it's mucousy in my throat, I'm sure you ALL want to know THAT 1st thing in the morning! ;)

Today is Day 5, another raw day, another gift to my body :D

Thanks again. You are all wonder-full. Wonderawful?
