Alissa's Onion Dip is DELICIOUS with flax crackers as well as with veggies and if you blend a little more water with it (compensating for the salt to taste after watering down) it's good as a salad dressing.
Her Nacho Cheese (undehydrated) as a dip is great and would be wonderful with your Mexican spice crackers.
For the brown sugar/cinnamon, I'd do almond butter on those
Alissa's spinach dip and the cheese she uses in the calzone mixed together make a wonder spinach/cheese dip for raw veggies. I use more spinach dip with less cheese.

Rawky Locky Have you tried subbing the cashews for the macs in the onion dip recipe?
I'm going to a cook out tomorrow and bringing a veggie tray. I'm taking everyone's word for this - this better be good, lol, cause that is a ton of nuts there, specifically the pricier kind.
But I have the right amount of cashews, not macs. I was just curious because I know you use cashews a lot.

I was in the second hand store and found this for .65!
Can you guess what it is?

Sharon, I ALWAYS use cashews in the dip instead of macs as I cannot get raw macs in my area. Still delish! :)
Oh...and after blending the dip (I use the Vitamix for a creamier consistency but perhaps you could powder the cashews as we talked about before and then process in the processor...that might be better) I like to pulse-chop some green onions and a little parsley and then stir into the dip for added texture and color.

I do the same thing as Rawkinlocs and use all cashews in the onion dip. It is sooooo good!

I like to make sauca for them and I also like them with hummus and I like them as croutons too!

Oh yeah! I also like to break (flax, etc.) crackers up into salads as croutons...gives a nice, savory crunch to the salads!

yeah I never used to like croutons, but I love flaxseeds on a salad, go figure.

Thanks Rawkinlocs!
I'll tell you what I did and the raw recipe disliker here loved it. This is completely off of the original recipe so I hope it is okay to post.
I used about 1 1/2 cups cashews and 1 1/2 teaspoons celtic salt, powdered it in the food processor, then slowly added around 1 cup water. It creamed up, then I added some lemon juice and a couple tablespoons of cashew butter to thicken it up more.
I put the dip in a bowl, cleaned the FP out and added a sweet onion, chopped it up, and then stirred it into the dip. I also put about a tablespoon of Frontier dill seasoning.
I had some raw caramelized onions laying around so I snipped them up with a scissors and stirred those in there.
It is really good, on the sweet side too. I thought it needed more than just the onions so I played around with it and it came out great. Can't wait to take it to the cook out. Ha.
Sharon, I will try your revamp of the onion dip. I, personally, didn't care for the onion dip. But I really miss a great dip.

i use like 1 cup cashews
1/2 red bell pepper
1 tomato
1/2 cilantro
1/4 jalepeno
sea salt and pepper
for the sweet one
try just macadamia nuts and if you eat honey or maple syrup
makes a great icing too
or sub cashews
enjoy

Thanks, folks. Keep 'em coming! I need all I can get. It'll help more, too, if you specify which food you think it goes best with.
Is the Macadamias/cashews with maple/agave something that would go with the brown sugar & cinnamon or..maple & cinnamon (whatever those are) flax seed crackers?
What about the hempseed crackers?
Anymore really flavorful dressings? I've tried a few recipes (not from this thread) for dressings and they were usually kind of watery or bland tasting.
I usually have Spinach/Kale, onion, cucumber, tomato, olives, avocado in my salads, if that helps bring any dressings to mind.
Thanks, all. I appreciate it!
