I'm just about to make some stuffed mushroom caps, but when I de-stem the little guys, there isn't really anyplace to "stuff" the filling
I'm just wondering if people simply plop some filling on top of the 'shroom, or do you dig out a bit of a depression to fill it in??
I guess I'll try both, as it doesn't really matter
I'm sure they will taste spectacular!!!
Yes you remove the stems and it leaves a nice little hole to fill with pesto or cheese. Both are yummy! Good luck!

Oh sheesh -
It must've just been a weird mushroom I tried first, because all the others' stems just pop out and leave a wonderful hole
Thanks for the reply... I ran for help too soon :p

That is bringing back memories of my restaurant days when we removed the stems to make the pesto stuffed mushrooms and then added the stems to the mushroom soup.
Raw folk have no use for the stems.

Raw folk have no use for the stems.
Oh yes we do! We put them in our compost and the critters just love 'em!!! :D
Are we not supposed to eat the stems??? Uh Oh.

Nini-
I have a batch of your Cheesy Sweet Potato chips in the dehydrator and I just have to say LOVE 'EM! :D
Great little recipe - I ate at least 1/4 of them raw (well. un-dried)

R U kidding! I use the stems to make a fabulous raw mushroom ragout which tastes like meaty spaghetti sauce. I use tomatoes, onion, garlic, basil, dates and the chopped stems and dehyrate it for a couple of hours. Yum!

Recipe, SparklePlenty?
SparklePlenty!!! What a great name!! It sounds like a character from My Little Pony or the Care Bears (which I used to love as a child)... Man, wish I came up with that.

I love the stems, I often marinate them in ACV and sprinkle some garlic on them - yummy!
