Hi All
I have been raw for 7 days now and I feel awesome.....
My current weight is 247.5 lbs and body fat is 35.2% with 64.8% lean. Basically I have 160.4 lbs of lean mass and 87.1 lbs fat. I am sure of the pecentage because I went and had an underwater weighing. I need to lose about 71 lbs and was wondering what I can do to help prevent loose skin. Alot of people on this forum have lost lots of excess fat and I hope to do the same.
I am doing raw for health. But the weight lose is a nice bonus. I am concerned about my skin not being able to bounce back from my horrible treatment of it. I am 35 years old and know I am young enough for my skin to heal, but I want to do everything possible to help it along.
Thanks for your replies,
Ken

Hi Ken,
Your skin is an organ like the rest of your body and in time it will rebuild just like all your other organs will, so be patient for the results. How far it will come back depends on how long you have been overweight, your other health issues, how you are currently living, like getting exercise, fresh air, sun light, all live foods, pure water, being stress free, etc.
Here is a great website to check out:

I recently lost 70lbs, 240 down to 170, I'm 38, 5'8"...had no problem with loose skin. Doing 100% raw to help loose the last 20-30lbs.
I need to get in shape and tone up muscle, but skin is fine!

As well as a program called "Oxycise" might help keep your skin tight and firm......
you can look up the oxycise website at oxycise.com. It seems a little cheesy, but I know it has helped people firm up their loose skin...

Or, if you're not fussed on Oxycise!, I know a lot of people who prefer LifeLift (some lady called Rashelle Haines is the maker).

Skin brushing is great for loose skin. You can buy the brushes just about anywhere now. Brush daily before taking a shower and your skin will firm up.

I am 47. My BMI is not quite as high as yours. After I had my baby, I had a ton of loose hanging skin around my stomach. I didn't think it would EVER go away. I've been eating raw coconut oil and also rubbing it into my skin. Suddenly the skin is starting to shrink.
You may or may not have a problem with excess skin after losing weight. You're still pretty young and your skin is probably still resiliant. And while it probably sounds to you like you need to lose a lot of weight, I know people who have lost over half their body weight. One of these people is having problems with loose skin after having lose weight. But she lost hundreds of pounds.

As Helen mentioned, exercise. Did you see " The Biggest Losers", A TV program? Well they exercised and some lost over 100lbs and had no issues with sagging skin. I think the skin issue comes into play when you have surgery like the Flobe Pouch bypass. They are obese and lose weight TOO fast..........

Raw food and moderate exercise should keep your from having this issue.
