Hi everyone! I first learned about eating raw foods a week ago today. My husband and I are very thrilled to have stumbled upon a book which has opened our eyes! We have 2 girls who are 9 (Genevieve) and 7 (Aurora). We have discussed our new way of eating with them and told them we'd really like them to do this with us as a family so we can be as healthy as possible! The are smart girls and are doing quite well. I made our first "fancy" raw dinner tonight..."lasagna" and they loved it!

This forum is great! I ordered them some bento boxes as seen in a recent post here and can't wait to get creative with their lunches. Thanks for all the wonderful stories and suggestions!

I have one question at the moment: what kind of drink containers do you use for your kids? I just found a site that sells stainless steel water bottles and that seems better to me than plastic. Is there a certain type of plastic that you believe to be safe, or would the metal be better? Would the metal react to raw drinks like nut milk or smoothies? Thanks for replying...I'm looking forward to being a part of this forum!

Hi Jessica,
welcome to this group, you will love it here.
I have an almost 3 year old baby and my husband and I have been raw for about 2 1/2 months. We have started transitioning Maxine and it is going so well. Your children are so lucky to have parents like you, going raw (whatever percent) is going to be the best for all of you.
I have also seen those stainless steel water bottles, it must be the same, can't seem to remember the brand. WE have done our research and that seems to be the safest. I am not sure about nut milks, but I guess if it is safe for water, that should be fine.
I have not found any plastic bottle that seems to be fine. We use Nalgene for water right now but I have heard that even those leach the plastic.
Hope you will find this board as helpful as I have.
