I like to bring breakfast to work. And yes, I grab fruit, etc., but I would like to have a mufin or bread type thing to tote w/me. Does anyone have a recipe or resource?
Thanks....

If you have Alissa's book she has a bread called 'spicey monkey bread' that is out of this world.. like a spicey banana bread.. YUM! You can take any bread that you like and shape it into a muffin shape before you dehydrate it.. just don't make them too thick or they may ferment. If your not concerned about shape just make 'slices' to dehydrate and that works just fine :)

I'm new at this and I dont have a dehydrator or anything yet. Is there any way to use the oven on a low setting to dehydrate until I save up the money for the dehydrator?
Rawkinlocs cinnamon pecan rolls are great and you can dehydrate them but dont have too.. You could also cover them with something and sit them in the sun. They are yummy with icing or without!

Hi... Here are a couple of recipes... I haven't tried them yet... they are from the book Living in the Raw by Rose Lee Calabro
APPLE MUFFINS:
1 C soft wheat berries (sprouted 1 day)
1 C barley (soaked 2 days)
2 bananas
2 C sweet apples, finely grated
3/4 C honey dates
1/2 C raisins
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
1 C pecans (soaked 6 hours) and chopped
*Process wheat, barley, bananas, apples, and dates till a smooth dough... then stir in raisins, vanilla, cinnamon and pecans... mix well. Form into 6 round muffins approximately 3/4" thick. Place on dehydrator tray with Teflex sheet... Dehydrate at 105 degrees for 4 hours. Then, remove Teflex sheet and turn over muffins... dehydrate for 4-6 hours. Or until desired texture is obtained.
BLUEBERRY MUFFINS:
1 C soft wheat berries (sprouted 1 day)
1 C barley (soaked 2 days)
2 bananas
3/4 C honey dates
1/2 C blueberries
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
*Process wheat, barley, bananas, and dates into smooth dough... Stir in blueberries, vanilla, cinnamon... mix well. Again, form 6 round muffins approximately 3/4" thick. Place on dehydrator tray with Teflex sheet at 105 degrees for 4 hours. Then, remove Teflex sheet... turn over muffins and dehydrate for another 4-6 hours... or until desired texture.

kellibelli - if your conventional oven can maintain temps lower then 110 F then you should be good to go. Otherwise, you are "cooking" the foods - destroying the enzymes...i.e. making the foods dead.
star1919 - thanks for the recipes - gonna give them a try, that's for sure!!! :D
