I am just starting out and I very much want this to work out for me. I am a "planner" and already my mind is thinking of all of the cravings I will have and all of the obstacles that will stand in my way. I am a single mom with three great little girls. I work from home so I do have access to my own food from home, which is a real plus. I welcome any advice...PLEASE!!! My mind is the worst thing that I will have to contend with! I want this to work!!!

What helps me most is green smoothies! I make a big ol' one in the morning and I'm good for hours! I can't even think about other food! I add lots of fat to it, which is what does it. I add a whole avocado and a tsp of coconut oil to a fruit smoothie, and then add a handfull of spinach. Delicious and satisfying!!

Well, don't think about what you don't want, because what you focus on, you manifest in your life.
So, thinking about all the cravings, and ALL that is NOT where you want to be focusing,
think about all the fresh ripe raw juicy fruit you will be eating, think about banana icecream with cacao sauce and walnuts and macademia nut whipped cream on top, think about rawviolies, dripping with marinara sauce, think about enchiladas, with cashew sour cream, fresh quackamole, and spicy salsa, mmmmmmm
think about date nut torte, and fudge balls, and strawberries dipped in chocolate, then think about how all of this marvelous RAW food will make you thin, and younger looking, and healthy and fit and what more could you ask?

-Yes...certainly think about the good things. Plus, there IS a level of raw food eating that you ARE comfortable with right NOW. Start from there and stretch...and you'll be fine. The wonderful folks on this board will support your every move - and answer all your questions.

remember to just eat, literally as much as you want of RAW FOOD, and evrything will fall into place just keep the fridge stocked.
When I originally went raw in 2003 I ate tons and lost 50 lbs in 2 months
and I mean nuts, avos, greens, cashew pates, nori wraps, mock mashed potatoes julianos recipe.
when you see and feel the results youll see its so worth it.
the cravings are hard ill admit that, but the flesh is weak, the mind is strong
this site is great Im a newbie of a few days only because I fell off the great raw ride a few years back and Im doing it again.
the ride took me from 250, to 180 and when i quit back to almost 290, Im 257 today so you can see once you get healthy going raw, its imparative to stay raw.
The body has a memory and if you feed those latent cells they wake up and kick you ass.
be strong eat with love, walk with love. and share love...................all you do needs to be from the place of love and if you slip, forgive yourself and get back to love.
when I eat a MANGO I feel the love.
PEACE AND HEALTH TO YOU

Set yourself up for success, not failure, by adding in one raw food after another. Don't think, for now, about what you should eliminate from your diet. Focus on the wonderful raw foods you can begin adding into your diet.
Before you know it, you will find, as I did, that your desire for the cooked foods begins to vanish. THe increasing amount of raw food begins to heal and change us on deep levels.
If I can release chicken, cheese, dhips and chocolate this way....well you will be successful too.
This does not have to be a hard process, allow it to unfold by focusing on waht you want, which is health, radiance, joy, and perhaps to ultimately be 100% raw, But don't try to force this now. IT will move organically as you eat more raw.YOu can't push the river, but you can let it take you where you want to go.
Blessings, you CAN do this!

I think that it's great that you're a planner. You're the type that will succeed on this lifestyle. Mess ups happen when one doesn't plan ahead or make sure there is an abundance of raw food around. So, I think you'll be fine. Get psyched and know that you can do it!!

I have been reading your responses and researching different raw recipes posted here and I am really super excited. I made a really ugly looking shake earlier this evening that tasted so GREAT. I kept half of it in a cup that I put in the freezer for "ice cream" tomorrow. It was kiwi, banana, orange, baby spinach, and some almond milk...so darn yummy even my kids like it once I forced them to try it!

Do you want to strive to be medication FREE? Or chase your craving for food that won't do a darn thing to help you? It is as simple as that, the choice is yours...............

Thanks to all of you for your support, ideas, encouragement, etcetera! I had no problems whatsoever with my first day being 100% RAW!!! It has been such a positive experience and really it is not as complicated as I had made it out to be in my mind. I know there will be days when I will have my temptations, but I still look forward to this experience with hopeful anticipation. :)
