I am so excited, I am ready to do the happy dance! I went to China town here in Montreal and finally worked up my courage to get some young coconuts. They came wrapped in saran wrap and not sure if I should remove it or leave it wrapped? Any suggestions?!
I am really grateful for any help,
Thanks in advance!

I got two young coconuts today as well, and I have no idea! Subscribing. :)

I usually leaved mine wrapped in the fridge until I get ready to use them. You are in for a nice treat. You know how to open them, right? Take a sharp (big) knife and using the corner (by the handle), whack the coconut until you cut through. Do this all around the top, then lift open the lid. The milk is out of this world. It's so yummy. I use this in my smoothies in the mornings. The white insides, I scrap out and usually freeze to make "ice creams" out of. Good stuff!

Oooh, freeezing the inside is a great tip! How long do they keep usually?

I'm guessing no more then 2, 3 weeks max. I usually don't keep mine that long.

Veganforlife,
thank you so much for the quick reply. Gotta find some room in the fridge for those babies.
I am looking forward to the morning to share it with my little girl. My hubby cannot take coconut milk, so more for us!
I searched the net and found numerous ways of opening up the coconuts. Yours sounds very simply too.
Thanks again!
