Though I've been meaning to, I haven't gotten on the raw ice cream bandwagon yet. Everything I've seen looks so good but I haven't frozen bananas and pulled my juicer out to make it. However, I had some mangoes (for those of you in Portland they were from People's Food Co-op on SE 21st, huge and organic and the best I've had all year and only 79 cents) that were going ripe faster than I could eat 'em so I took the meat off of the pit and froze it. Yesterday I was craving an Icee (my favorite of the SAD slushies) or something similar and I remembered that mango. I put it in my blender with a bit of water and blended it all up and got this beautiful sorbet. I put it in a red bowl and the colors contrasted wonderfully and I ate it all up. I'll be doing that again today, for SURE! Except this time I'll use orange juice or something for the liquid, to keep it a bit sweeter. Anyway, thanks guys.
