hi All I was wondering what you all thought about this, it seems these days I am never hungry I could probably go all day and longer without getting that hungry feeling I have hardly been eating at all but I do eat just to make sure I'm intaking some kind of food. So far today all I have had is water and 2 sccops of Banana ice cream with a few raisans and a raw bar. Do you think my body is telling me to fast?. Any ideas on this would be appreciated, thanks as always in advance.

Hey Karen,

My husband and I were discussing this recently...many of us (raw fooders included) never allow our bodies a REST from eating and digesting and sometimes that is needed.

I WANT to fast, but I haven't been able to stop eating long enough!

Yeah, perhaps this is a signal for you to take a little break by fasting. Go with it and see where it leads you!

Thanks Rawkinlocs, that is so funny of you to mention that you want to fast, but you haven't been able to stop eating long enough! LOL that happens to me too!!!!!! That's why I thought if I was to get a little input from all you fab people out there in RFT land that it might give me a little more incentive. ;) . Oh the downfalls of all this wonderful tasting raw food all to tempting even when your body is telling you to rest. Thanks for your wisdom.

I totally know!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's been days where I just don't want to eat anything! On these days I usually have melon or juice some greens. Listen to your body. I agree that maybe it's telling you to take a break LOL

I haven't been so hungry either and this makes it much easier to avoid SAD when it is in my face and don't have to deal with cravings either. I'm just eating less but I still bring alot with me to work just in case I get hit with a strong hunger.

Wish I had y'alls problem. I eat a full meal with dessert and then an hour later I'm hungry again. I'm sure it'll adjust down but having never had much of an appetite despite having gotten a little heavy for my frame while on the SAD it's kinda new for me to get HUNGRY so often. I think we all just need to learn to trust our "body/mind" as one alternative doctor puts it. They say very young children still have an instinct about what their body needs but that it is squelched by the SAD we give them and that if you would put a variety of foods in front of them they would choose only what their body needed. I saw that to some extent when my son was nursing, he would reach out and take the raw onion rings off my plate and even though it made his eyes water and his face red he would grin and reach for more even when fruit he liked was sitting there. So if your body says give it a rest....it probably knows what it's talking about.

Thanks Xanadu sometimes we do just need to listen to what our bodies want food really can be such an addiction sometimes and even though it's raw it still call in the way of cravings or emotions. i guess thats just one of the many detoxes or something that we need to stay strong and work through.
Thanks again all for your ever giving support.
