I am new here. We are a couple who have been fairly heathly for sometime. We decided to go raw and are now starting our third week. We mainly have vegatables, fruits, and a few nuts. So far, we have had no weight loss, no increase in energy, not as restful sleep, and one of us has had an acne break out. So, what are we doing wrong?

Our day
Green Lemonade - Natalie Rose
Morning snack - a piece of fruit
Lunch - green salad
Afternoon snack - a piece of fruit
Dinner - salad
Late night snack - fruit or fudge ball

One of us is 5'11, 170 and the other won't give his weight but not too much overweight.

So, what are we doing wrong?

You know, not everyeone loses weight right away!

I have LOTS of weight to lose but I don't even think about that anymore because my NEW reason for eating Raw is how I FEEL!

It depends on how much bad eating and your other health issues as well, maybe your body is putting the energy into healing something in you that needs all the energy it has and the weightloss will have to wait until your other healing is done.

There are lots of factors such as exercise, water intake, built up waste in the body... Reading and see if maybe you need a bowl cleansing?

Keep reading find others who share your struggles. use the banana button search up top.

If you eat raw for just weightloss you might want to rethink a little and see more about the whole picture of raw :)

Hang in there it sounds like you are doing good! Fine tuning can help too :)

On another thread I read that someone did RAW for 5 months before losing any weight. I've only been at this a few weeks myself and I am not doing recipes - the only complex thing I eat is salad - everything else is just clean and raw. I quickly noticed that I could not handle the sugar in fruits and I cut them out totally. Now I am starting to have them a bit again. If I spread it out the sugar in them doesn't wipe me out. So I have a honeydew melon and I will put it in the blender and freeze it in plastic recycled drink containers. If I just sip here and there throughout the day as it thaws I can enjoy it with no noticeable negative effects. Just keep at it and remember how different foods make you feel. I can break out within minutes now.

If you have less weight to lose, then it won't be as dramatic as some of what you've read on here.
Acne breakouts are common :D Welcome to detox. I'm sure that's why there's lessened energy and drive and will. Be patient and be raw, and your body will soon realize how great it's going to feel.

Welcome to the forum.
All things come to those that wait. Do not worry. Whatever you need Raw will deliver.

The only thing you guys are doing "wrong" is being a little overly anxious about the wonderful changes your bodies will eventually make! :) And that isn't "wrong"...but you do have to realize that sometimes it just takes time for the body to get to it's optimal level of health.

I didn't get the energy until after about a month or so and the acne breakouts...very well detox (see this for more on that: http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3605)

Don't worry, as it's been said by the others, things will happen if you stick with it but everyone is different and see results at different times. Meanwhile, enjoy eating this way, try to focus on your goals, you can write down the things you want to change and then check them off as they DO happen, get rid of the scale (it'll only set you up for constant disapppointment and frustration if/when you see the numbers fluctuating as your body does what it needs to do, and most of all...stick around here for support!

Hang in there...it WILL get better but please give your body time and a chance.

I guess we will just have to have a little more patients. I did hide the scales.
