I saw the tea post, and was wondering if there was such a thing as raw hot chocolate. I'm in Canada, so we have a very long cold winter, and having something warm to drink after being in the snow would be great- and I love hot chocolate. Anyone ever try this?

Yes; I looked at how cocoa was first used as "Drinking Chocolate" and was mixed with hot water not dairy. Also in Europe it is served more on the watery side w/o sugar; they give you a separate packet.

I have tried warming nut mylks - did not work so well.

So I heated water put it in my VitaMix on lowest and added cocoa powder and agave.

It gave me the warm sweet chocolate taste I love but did not have the creamyness. I actually really like it!

Cheers,

EPPP

Here's another thought, maybe if you add some ginger to your hot chocolate recipe. I love ginger and whenever I eat it, I get warmed up.

I make "hot" chocolate by taking almond milk (don't use cashew milk, it thickens)

and some agave' some cacao powder, and a couple of dashes of cayenne, blend in Vita Mix, then warm to finger warm on the stove, is nice a "Hot" the cayenne makes it taste hotter than it is, and the warming to finger warm, makes it feel warmer.

Oh yes, adding a dash of cinnamon makes it taste like Mexican Hot chocolate.

it's marvelous
