View Full Version : How to determine what percent raw???

When someone says they're 75% raw, does that mean that 75% of their daily caloric intake is from raw foods? I guess that would make the most sense. Or does it mean that 75% of the time, hrs in the day, they eat raw food???

I don't know how others do it, but I consider myself 75% raw because at least 75% of my food for each day is raw. Sometimes I'm around 90% but because I sometimes have 75% days, I use that as my "official" raw percentage.
I don't eat any entirely cooked meals. My meals are often 100% raw. But sometimes, for example, I'll make a veggie wrap that basically has a 100% raw salad inside a flour tortilla. Everything but the tortilla is raw. The other two meals for the day would likely be 100% raw if I used a tortilla. Other days I might have a small bowl of organic granola for breakfast as well and that would take my raw percentage for the day down a bit more. (I don't have a dehydrator, so I don't make raw breads and crackers, at least not yet).
I was just thinking about this yesterday. Glad you posted this! I want to see what others say.

Well I consider my husband 40-75% raw depends on the day. One a 75% day his meals would be like this:
Raw fruit smoothie
Raw salad with raw dressing
and something cooked maybe a small serving of meat with some steamed rice.
I myself am 100% all the time.

I would consider myself 75%-100% Raw. Most days I eat salads with raw dressings and nut cheeses. However, I do use non-raw condiments like Veganaise or Mango Chutney or Dijon Mustard, and Nutritional Yeast flakes. I still feel 100% better and I beat Cancer(well me and God:)). I eat fruit and dried fruits too and Raw Milk Cheese and some times Salmon Sashimi. I don't get all wigged out if I have a bite of something cooked, I just stick to what keeps me alive and well and that for sure is RAW:)

-It doesn't HAVE to be THAT scientific! LOL.
-If you are averaging 1/3 raw at every meal....then you are 33% raw! If you are averaging 1/3 raw at ONE meal a day........then you are 1/9.....or 11% raw. You get the message. Pick the level that you eat consistently...and THAT is YOUR percentage. The whole point is to give you a general benchmark to bust a move....so the actual solid number is a bit arbitrary anyway! :)
