Hey there...

What do the majority of you do before you workout or cardio it out? I personally in the past couldnt really workout without eating. But that's when I was sad.

Also if one lifts weights is it best to consume food right after?

Again what do the lovely people here do?

I usually have half a banana before I run - if it's a very long run, I add a tbsp of almond butter. Between the banana and the start of exercise I wait for 20 or more minutes, depending on how much time I have.

Sometimes I have half of a green smoothie (1 frozen banana, 1 orange, handful of spinach, some orange juice or water) and the other half afterwards.

cheers,
melanie

I don't need to but my DH either has a banana or some carrot-apple juice otherwise he gets nauseated.

I generally don't eat before exercising. What I mean is, if I'm running in the morning, I go on an empty stomach, but if I'm running in the afternoon, then usually I've eaten something during the day, but I don't have a little snack or anything just beforehand.

I read that something like citrus fruit is the best for before and a banana for after (due to the potassium.) Coconut water is great before, during or after.

Before walking in the mornings, I half a small glass of orange juice. It's just enough to get my body going, and I don't need to let it settle before heading out for my walk. The best part is..fresh squeezed O.J. tastes absolutely wonderful!!! :)

Before I ran 5 miles this morning I had a bottle of water (16 oz) and that did the trick. I also carried a bottle of water with me during my run.

I have 2 bananas preferably about 15 mins before. Otherwise I will get lightheaded.
I have tried it on watermelon but failed so went back to the bananas.

I used to eat before running, or rather I ran after eating (in the hopes of burning the fat I gained)

I stopped doing that after several experiences of having to stop by at a fast food rest room to do no.2 on the washroom, and I also recall a time I didn't stop by, well, as I was in a super hurry to enter my house I did no.2 in my pants. (I used to run 8k that time...)

What about before lifting weights? Do you eat? I want to start doing a light run in the morning before lifting to warm my body up. So get up, in the morn, run 20 minutes warming up, then come back home, and lift weights, Should one drink when I come back, or before, or ear light, then have a big ol smoothie after lifting?
