I see an acupuncturist for chronic back issues and today I told him I was going 100% raw. He was very supportive because he is a vegetarian. He told me some interesting things that I might not find in the books about eating raw. If you all know these things please forgive me. I just started 3 days ago and have not read Alyssa's book yet. I just thought Id share ;)
The following facts are according to chinese medicine:
- TASTE, TEXTURE and COLOR - there should be a variety of tastes (see below), a variety of textures (smooth and crunchy) and your plate should look like a rainbow(an array of colors).
- every plate should be SSSBP (Sweet, Sour, Salty, Bitter, and Pungent)
examples....Sweet = carrot, Sour = lime, Salty = celrey, Bitter = radish, pungent = ginger.
Anyway - I just thought Id share :)
