Sounds gorgeous. I love mango and banana together...As pudding, as smoothie, as fruit salad...The avocado no doubt made it even richer and lovelier.
Yum!
The last two mangos I have bought, though organic were not so stellar. They were dry and tasteless despite feeling and appearing ripe. I miss my giant mangos from when I first went raw.
Cassy :)

Wow Sharon ... this sounds really good and for once I actually have all the ingredients. I'm going to give this a try tonight!
Out of mangos AND 21 degrees! brrrrrrrr- that is COLD. Double bummer. Tis warm here now (stlouis), but the cold is heading our way for mid week. Time for super hot salsa!

Mango salsa also gives you a sweet, spicy, and tangy mix all together. I love it!

I have all of that on my counter top waiting to be tossed- sounds great!
Melissa- [And I will report back after I eat it!]
Okay- I made this, but it didn't really taste that good. But my mango isn't that great and the avocado is not the type that I really like- so I could not give this recipe a fair rating... I am going to try it again when I have better produce...I also think I used a tad too much salt...

Yes - let me know how you like it!
I just made some more last night after going out in the freezing cold to Walmart. The mangos were 89 cents each and actually weren't too shabby. I used 2 bananas this time.
The best thing about it - besides how yummy it is of course - is that it's sooo filling! You can use a whole avo and extra bananas if you want. It really keeps you happy for a long time.
Allison can you post your mango salsa recipe on a new thread?

FYI...when buying a mango, look for one that has a dried syrupie look where the stem was. That means the mango was ripened natually on the tree...not while being shipped. It tastes so much better!

Hi,
My hubby bought a mango for me the other day, with that dry syrupie thing. He said that the mango called to him that it was ripe, he is an organic gardener, and talks to food. YES, for real.
So, I believe this is true. the first mango I ever ate, years ago, tasted like turpentine, I found out later, that it wasn't ripe.
Then I wouldn't eat them. Another RAW friend gave me two one day, I peeled them, and they were brown in side, I didn't know this wasn't right, and tried one, they were awful, again the turpentine, but in a really terrible way, they were rotten.
Okay, so my hubby buys this one for me, and tells me I will like it.
It wa ripe, it was juicy but I still didn't like it. There is a turpentine taste about them, that I don't care for.
But he was right, it was at least ripe, and juicy and sweet, but I only ate a couple bites. He got the rest.
I'll stick to kiwis, and bananas and blood oranges, and pineapples.
I tried durian, and cheramoya too, didn't like them. However I do love all the berries, we grow them at our home, so we always have plenty.

Funny about all this 'dried syrupie thing' talk!
I remember reading on Shazzie's transitional journal how she had to pay extra for a 'tree-ripened mango' at the shop.
I can't wait for my next trip to the store to look for that dried syrupie thing! And will people look at me strangely if I put my ear to the fruit? Maybe the ripe one will talk to me, too!
