i want to use whole vanilla bean in my pudding recipe. i will be using my vitamix so i understand it should blend up well, but how much (how many inches?) of a bean is needed to replace 1 teaspoon of alcohol free vanilla extract? TIA :)
many blessings to all,
shelah
ps. i saw somewhere that 1 inch of the bean, scraped, equals 1 tsp. extract, but i wondered if it made a difference when using the seeds and pod together.

I heard that generally 1tsp extract equals one vanilla bean...

I use 1 inch of vanilla bean for each teaspoon of vanilla extract.
