Hi Everyone,

I ordered the variety pack tortilla wraps from rawlife.com a couple of months ago and I can't find them anymore on their website. Does anyone know where I can find these tortilla wraps online?

Thanks

Welcome! :)

Hmm, I'm not sure where to find those as I tend to eat the more simple stuff now. Just a note though, if you're aiming for 100% raw make sure for certain that they really are raw. A great deal of packaged foods are labelled as raw and even sold on raw food sites and are not truly raw. That may not bother you but it is something to be aware of. Certain packaging methods involve intense heat and some of the so called raw things are only allowed to be called that because the ingredients are raw before it is all mixed up and cooked. Contacting the company and asking is best. Ask if the temperature of the product raised above 100 degrees fahrenheith at ANY time and see what they way.

Sorry I don't know where to find them, I wasn't much help.

lissomllama, you were very helpful. I'll keep that in mind before I buy packaged raw food online.

Thanks AICgem, that is the company! I'll see if I can find some other way to contact them.

Are you looking for corn or flour type tortillas? For corn Alissa'a Enchilada recipe could be changed to suit.

let me know if you can get through to that site (www.sacredsymbiosis (http://www.sacredsymbiosis)). I just looked at the site and all I can get is the page with the tortillas. The other links (e.g FAQS/AboutUs) do not work. I clicked on the contact button and typed a question about how the tortillas were prepared. If I get a response I'll post it on here.

How many grams is it? The price is $10.99, so if it's less than a kilogram I can't justify paying that for tortillas.

The last ingredient is nutritional yeast, which isn't raw (if it were you'd get a yeast infection), and is often used for its glutamate content.

From Dorit Dyke's book Celebrating Our Raw Nature, here is an unusual, really delicious tortilla (orginally from krosto@4Vibrance.com).

At first glance, it seems to contain a lot of ingredients, but, really, the last six are seasoning. It's quite easy. I hope you like it.

Cheesy Tortilla Rolls

1/2 C. flaxseeds,soaked
3 C. corn kernels
1/2 C. cilantro, chopped
1/2 C. orange juice, freshly squeezed
1 T. Celtic sea salt
1 tsp. habanero chili, chopped
1 tsp. ginger, minced
1 tsp garlic, minced (optional)
1 tsp. cumin, ground
1 tsp. lime, juice and pulp

Blend all ingredients in a food processor. Spoon onto unbleached wax or parchment paper and form 3 - 6 inch cirlces. Make them approximately 1/4 inch thick to firmly hold veggies. Dehydrate at 115 degrees F for about five hours or until they assume a chewy texture. Do not dry until brittle, unless you desire to make them into chips. You can also cut into strips for "cheese".

:D :D I don't eat the sprouted ones that are sold in our local health store and i miss using them because they are so easy to fill.
How nice of you to post such a needed recipe, can these be frozen?
Thanks again, will make some today.

I posted this message above. I just checked my email today. I posted on the Sacred Symbiosis site wondering about the tortillas. I cut and pasted the reply I received above. He states that they are raw. I guess for people like me - who have been eating raw in its most natural state, it is an okay splurge every now and then. They do seem on the expensive side for my taste however. I'm still trying to decide if I should take the plunge and do a dehydrator or not. I just don't want it to be sitting around. I don't know? The recipe RawTruth posted sure does sound good!
