I have just resumed my workout routine and have always had trouble with headachs after cardio.
Now in anticapation of this I made sure NOT to over do it and to have a nice long cool down after. I am 38 and my heart rate during avg's 140 & I cool down to 115 bpm. But I still end up with this pounding in my head.
Before the workout my breakfast is a very green smoothie and during I have water and my very watery banana & water smoothie. I am 100% raw.
Any thoughts?

I think you need more calories when you are done. Sometimes I get pounding headaches after my long runs and it usually tells me I need to eat more. As soon as I get full my headaches start going away.

OK, thanks - I will try; although the LAST thing I want to do is eat just after! :o

Actually, it is important to eat within 30 minutes of your workout. Try eating a bunch of oranges or something juicy like that. There is nothing like oranges after a long run. I think it is all the yummy juice in them. :p

You might want to squirt some agave nectar or fruit juice into your water.
I used to get very dizzy when I would do an intense workout and my lovely SA at Whole Foods suggested the fruit juice idea. Haven't had a problem since!

Increase your water during the work out. Have water with you and take the time to drink a bottle during the work out. That should do it, sounds like dehydration ?

There's a fair chance you are getting enough in your green smoothie but just in case you might try taking a tablet of chelated magnesium just before your next workout because we tend to not have enough of it in the land anymore in which our foods are grown and also tend to use up our blood supply of it when under stress or exercising. Some of us are more sensitive to that loss than others, me for one. If I get low I always get a migraine so at the first sign of one I cut it off (usually) by very quickly chewing a tablet up with water. It also regulates a rapid or irregular pulse, aids with PMS and depression.

Thanks Fruit & Xanadu I shall look into both!
Could it be some type of allergy? I've been having problems with my ears after longer runs 10+ miles. I feel like I'm landing on an airplane. Just last week I found out I'm allergic to nuts - which I've been eating like crazy since I started this raw diet. I never suspected it. When the doc pressed on my cheecks I realized my sinuses are very congested, even though my nose has been clear and I've only felt symptoms when I push my body for a long time.
Lets see eat nuts, stop running, or keep running lay off the nuts???

OK I bought the CM and have been taking it for two days. I went to the gym and as a test really pushed myself going beyond the stage I knew would cause a headache.
Yippee NNNOOOO headache! I have suffered from migrains since I was in 3rd grade! I am so excited that this may have been the ticket - I am thrilled!!! So thanks for the recommendation :p
Cheers!
