I'm thinking of trying the Master Cleanse when I use up my current food stores.

It will serve a few purposes in my mind, as I'm on limited funds right now, want to reduce residual cravings and want to get a weight loss boost to motivate me... seems like a good idea!

I've read people can lose lots of weight, as with any fast. For those who have done this, how much did you regain after going back to raw?

TIA

Oh, one more thing - can you exercise while doing the fast? I wouldn't mind tapering off to some weights towards the end of the 10 days, but, I'd like to keep going as far into it as possible.

I've fasted on only water for 10-14 days twice before & have lost lots of weight. The second time around I just rested & lost more weight that way. If you really want to lose weight fast, don't exercise while fasting. Just rest as much as you can, b/c energy will be very fickle. Maybe it's diff. on an MC but for a water fast, resting was very essential for me. Use the energy to do some dry brushing instead to help your skin to detox.

I didn't gain any weight back at all(eatting RAW though), maybe 2-3lbs during TOM but lost it afterwards.

Goodluck!

I went from the SAD diet to a 40 day juice fast then to raw. I lost ~20lbs during the fast. I was so paranoid that I had killed my metabolism due to the fast that my body would hold onto anything I ate.

On the contraray! I gained ~2-3lbs simply b/c of the weight of food in my body. The weight stayed there for about 2 weeks, then I lost another 15lbs in about a month and a half because of eating raw.

Part of the reason I lost all of the weight is because my body was so out of wack that it couldn't function properly--let alone metabolize any fat. My advice to you is approach it as more of a clean up/healing, and the weight is just a by-product. (By any advice is worth what you paid for it :) )

Good luck!

personally i think fasting is all about losing water weight i always regain the weight lost. my body may be different so try it out and gauge what works best for you.

if that is the ARISE & SHINE?

I did it back in 2003, because my ph was so good at the time I jumped right into the hardest phase with no food. If my memory is accurate I lost 18 lbs in 10 days and after only gained about 5 back, which I think is just the body holding food and some water.

It was great, I got rid of about 25 feet of mucoid plaque.

About 2 months later I did a 9 day water fast.........................those were the days 186 lbs hiking 6 to 10 miles a day in majestic Mt Shasta Ca.

its those memories that are leading back the long road I created when I gave up raw food in Sept 2003. The hardest lesson of my life

I wish you well and I think how you break a cleanse or fast is optimally important, I binged a few times and its horrible, I ate like an addict, i mean like stuffing food in my mouth and I would hide from others so I would not be judged. Funny nobody judges me more than me.

PEACE AND HEALTH TO YOU
