Hello,

As an amateur, I would like to know based on your experiences a few things:

1. How long does a green smoothie last/keep from spoiling-I almost always use lemon in mine, hoping it'll act as a preservative?? I try to use it within 24 hours of making it, but just want some advice.

2. I want to make some raw spaghetti, soaked and dried my walnuts for cheese in the oven at 110 degrees, left them in there for tonight, and my hubby turned on the oven to preheat and didn't know my nuts were in there-so now they are roasted & there goes my dinner and a whole days work-

Anyway, sorry about that- what I wanted to know is, if I make the sauce tonight, is spaghetti sauce the same as cooked spaghetti sauce, usually tasting better on the second day as the flavors develop, or do the flavors disappear after sitting. I want to know if I can make it tonight, and just make the cheese tomorrow, since I have to start the whole soaking and drying stuff all over again.

3. Do most foods generally taste better prepared right before eating, or what is good to prepare ahead of time??

Thanks, I think that will help me with my crazy schedule and food prep.

My husband always makes his green smoothie for 2 days and makes it the night before because he says it tastes better the day after which means that when he has the 2nd bowl it has been made for 2 and a half days.

I can't stand left over smoothies, but it may be a mental thing. If I have leftovers I freeze them in cubes and then add them to future smmothies.

Sorry about your nuts.

I usually like the marianara sauce so much that I never have left overs. Because it does have garlic and other spices in it I am sure it would taste better during round two.

I never make cheese for my non-spagettii, but thats just me.

I prepare patte and hummus and things like that ahead for the week. But other then that I just eat most of everything raw. Sweet smoothies made into popcicles I usually keep on hand in the freezer too.
