 Ive read alot of the posts about being pregnant and Raw but it seems that everyone is already some form of raw. I use to be on and off but havnt been in months and now Im 11 weeks pregnant and Id really like to do this but I just wasnt sure if I should be changing my diet at the end of my first trimester. If anyone has any advice or stories Id really appreciate it. I wouldnt have wrote to you all if I felt that I knew more about it but I really dont, I just wasnt sure about the whole changing my diet if Im already past conception. Thank you

It NEVER hurts to eat healther. You can slowly transition. This will keep your detox symptoms down and you'll be increasing the good live raw nutrition that you and your baby need. Don't stress out over it, just make a few changes now, see how you feel, then make some other changes. You'll do just fine :) JMHO

Giaya~

I have been off and on raw for several years. I am now 35 weeks pregnant. I was not doing so well raw when I first got pregnant this time, but at 14 weeks I started raw. I felt amazingly better. I would encourage you to get started!! It will make your pregnancy so much more enjoyable eating raw!

Also I want to mention that my baby is obviously growing, even though I have only gained 4lbs. My midwife just asked me yesterday if I thought she was bigger than my others :) Well no, I don't think she is, but I know that she is definelty thriving and growing. I think my others seemed big while carrying them cause I was so miserable with the extra 25-30lb weight gain.

Best of luck to you!

Absolutely! I went raw while pregnant-no transition. I was close anyway, truth be told. I felt great and didn't have the extra weight gain-I just had my baby and he was 8 pounds 4 ounces on raw. Not exactly teeny! Oh-and my supply is great. ;)

Thanks for all your advice. I think the only hard part will be the price of all produce grocery shopping. It makes me sad that its cheaper to buy canned and boxed food then it is for fresh healthy foods.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I would say that any raw you can add to your diet would be great, and be a bonus. Even if you could be 50/50 raw/cooked vegan, that would be great to start with.. then you could work your way up..

Keep us updated on how you go! Have you had a scan yet?

I am 6 weeks pregnant at the moment, with baby no 4. Is this your first baby?

Hi, I am at the end of my 7th baby pregnancy and I feel terrific. I don't know how much weight I have gained, but this is the first time I have been able to wear maternity all the way through. Usually my butt and thighs get so big i have to buy "fat ladies" clothes (1x, 2x) in order to be comfortable. This time, only my belly grew! I am estatic!

No heartburn, no sciatic nerve pain, no morning sickness to speak of... I ran 3 miles all the way up to 28 weeks (normally I would have had to stop by 10-11 weeks due to early contractions) then swam all summer and now walk 2 miles 3-4 times a week.

Definately, get as raw as possible. It has made such an amazing difference for me. I really didn't even "feel" pregnant until the last few weeks. I started the waddle and being a bit tired. I usually get that about half way through. I got to enjoy the baby moving and being pregnant this time.

Congratulations!! That is amazing.
