I painted a jar for my Dad and my grandma suggested filling it with cookies. My dad is supposedly borderline diabetic/obese or something like that...plus, why would I want to give him sad cookies? So I want to fill it with a raw dessert. I was thinking of blending pecans and raisins together with maybe a little coconut butter to make a sort of fudgish type thing. Does anyone think that would work? The problem is I don't have enough pecans (and I have to crack them, they are in shell) but those are the ony nuts i have...otherwise I have sunflower seeds, flax seeds, sesame seeds, hemp seeds, and pumpkin seeds. any suggestions?? If not, is there any other recipe that I can use these things in to make him something yummy to fill the jar with??

thanks for any help, its really appreciated!! :)

I'm not really sure...I can't think of anything at the moment...sorry! I'm sure someone here will think of something though. That sounds cool what does the jar look like?

Ok, I have been making the most wonderful chocolate truffles ever, I never measure anything so all you do is this:
In a food processor place
pitted dates, dried cherries, any nuts or seeds that you have, a few tablespoons of organic cocoa powder a pinch of sea salt, a few drops of stevia, vanilla extract or scraped vanilla bean, a also have tossed in a few raw cocoa nibs.
blend until it forms a ball
then I form then into walnut sized balls and you can roll them in coconut or cocoa powder and place them on a plate and refrigerate until firm.
( I dip them in melted vegan chocolate) I know it's not raw but soooo tastey
My very carnivorous neighbor offered to buy the chocolate if I would make them for her! haha

You could also do maybe a raw trail mix with nuts, raisins, dehydrated banana chips, other fruit, sunflower seeds..that would be pretty in jar. :)

Try visiting the www.fromsadtoraw.com site and checking the recipe section. There are a lot of photos in there and then you could find the recipes with the ingredients you already have.

You could put a bunch of items in the jar, maybe putting them in a baggie or decorated bag? Trail mix would be nice with pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds, along with some dried fruit. Perhaps you could add honey and make a bar out of them?

thank you for the ideas!
trail mix would look really pretty but the jar is a bit too big, I would never have enough.

musicalfruit, that sounds delicious! If I could get all the ingredients I would definately try it for my dad (and of course I would taste test a bit)! I may be able to.
thanks :)

Emeraldglow,
its basically just a largeish jar (as far as jars go) with a wooden top. I painted a deer in the wilderness on the wooden top lol.

Sharon,
oh yes I know that site. Thanks I'll have to check it out again :)
