Can't find the source now, but someone suggested putting sprouted buckwheat in candies. My kids really dislike sprouted buckwheat, but they love this treat that I whipped up. My large Cuisinart easily handles double this recipe.
Carob Crunch Balls
2/3 c. walnuts
1 c. dates
2/3 c. shredded coconut (dried)
1 1/2 T. carob powder
1 1/2 t. vanilla
1/4 c. sprouted, dehydrated buckwheat (estimate)
Chop walnuts in food processor. Add next four ingredients and process until all holds together well. Put into mixing bowl and add buckwheat, mixing well with hands. Form into balls and freeze. Delicious!

I make a lot of different things such as these! They are so good!
Another good thing to add is: almond butter, and agave! That makes them so good!

Great ideas, guys!!
Do you think this would work with sunflower seeds? My daughter's school is nut-free, so I'm trying to find nut-free snacks for her to take. I don't know if sunflower seeds would be good with carob. Hmmmmm.

I think it would work fine. So why no nuts? No nut butters either?

Probably allergies. I know a lot of school no longer allow kids to bring peanut butter to school.

No products with tree nuts whatsoever. Their logic is to make it safer for the kids with nut allergies.... and more complicated for raw foodists.

Hmm, well why don't the kids go raw and maybe there alergies will be no more!?!?
I'm sorry, but what are tree nuts exactly? Does this mean seeds are okay? Like tahini? Cause it is good with tahini too!

Tree nuts are basically any nuts pretty much. Seeds are okay (thank goodness!). I can't stand the store bought tahini I have (says raw but it's Maranatha so I have my doubts). I'll try blending up my own sesame seeds and see what I can create.
