Hi, all I'm new here and have a few "beginners" questions that I hope you all can help me with:
I'm just getting started with raw and feel like I'm going to have a lot of cleansing to go through. I was a big drinker and know that my liver will need all the help it can get! I know that white willow bark is an excellant herbal remedy for liver cleansing, but should I even bother with the herbal supplaments once I am totally raw? What about supplaments like gensing or ginko biloba? They're a great energy boost, especially when I have long tedious days at work or while training. Would they help while going through the detox? Or should I even bother?
Also, I am gearing up to train for a triathlon and spend a lot of time out in the sun training. It is exceptionally hot and humid here and I've often needed Gatorade & Cytomax to ward of dehydration. (Think swimming in salt water, biking & running on hot pavement for upwards of 3-4 hours at a time)
So, what should I be doing to help supplament in the heat & humidity while training? Should I keep drinking the sports drinks or is there a better raw way to keep from dehydrating and muscle cramping while doing endurance sports? Keep in mind I cannot eat any sort of fibrous fruits and veggies before or during that kind of workout...it kills the stomach!
And another question to go along with the first one...
What is the best foods for cleansing? So far I know of lemons, parsley & apples. Am I right? And what other foods have superior cleansing abilities? (for the liver & kidneys mainly)
thanks for your help in advance...
