I have just bought Nori sheets and tried making raw sushi with blended lentils, nama shoyu and lemon juice, then mung bean sprouts and slices of red bell pepper. But I found it made me feel sort of sick! I think the combination just didnt work. Im not sure I like Nori as sushi. Is there any other things I could do with it that would probably be more appealing?! :o Any suggestions would be great :)

TIA

I've been addicted to guacamole in nori for a while now. I have it almost every night and still can't get enough of it. It's very satisfying to me.

First of all, is it the nori or the combination of other stuff? Did you taste the other stuff w/out the nori? You can always wrap things in lettuce, chard or kale leaves.

For me, I'd find different fillings. Most every un-cook book I've seen has SOME type of "sushi" filling. Can also search online.

I use green sunny patte as a spread on the nori sheets and slices of carrot, celery, cucumbers, and avocado as the filling. They are soooooo good. I use no namo shoyu or anything. They just don't need it.

Raw mung bean sprouts make me feel sick...everytime UNLESS I marinate and dehydrate them first (like in my stir-dried veggies)...so it could have been that or as stated, just the whole combination or even the Nama Shoyu as that doesn't agree with a lot of people.

But you can do any pate' inside (Alissa's Mock Salmon would be good in it) or just veggies with cauliflower or parsnip "rice".

I got reeeeally sick after I ate some nori rolls with Nama Shoyu. I'm pretty sure it was the Nama Shoyu :(

Oh great thanks, that makes sense, it was probably the combination of nama shoyu and nori sheets! I'll try it with guacamole next time, thanks for the idea! :D

Hi There
I too felt really ill after eating nori rolls. I have used the Nama Soyu in other recipes and it did not bother me. For me, l think it was the nori rolls.
