I have a problem with constantly getting yeast infections. I was told that I shouldn't eat any sugar at all, including most fruits.

I have a really hard time with this because I eat a ton of fruit. I think I have read on here that people who have gone 100% raw of gotten rid of problems like these? Even though the "cure" is supposed to be no sugar at all?

I did! I just ate raw (including unlimited fruit) and my v. yeast (and oral thrush) went away. I used to get chronic v. yeast infections too, but after going raw, that ceased.

My surgeon said that the sugars in raw foods and the fats in raw foods do not contribute to the growth of yeast overgrowth. At all.

Since going raw, I have not had the chronic yeast problems I used to have eating the SAD.

I have a tendency to believe him.

cheers!

You might also try a product called Yeast Arrest. I use the suppositories. They also make some supplements but I don't take those. I think they have milk or something I'm allergic to in them. The capsules are very effective and unlike other OTC things will reset the PH balance down there. You may have to use them monthly for a while.

I was pretty sure I was going to get answers like that. I'm just not sure I have the confidence in myself to go 100% raw. I don't like to do things and then stop them and then start them again like a yo-yo dieter. I would say that I am only about 60% raw right now and this lifestyle completely intrigues me which is why I keep coming back to this board. :) Plus I want to get rid of this freaking yeast infection problem and have more energy which I keep reading is a side benifit of eating raw. The will power though...I am a carb o holic.

Your a carb o holic because of the yeast. It feeds off the carbs. I used to be too!

I have this problem on and off over the years. I am in a one month battle right now and I have been (mostly) raw for a year, eating ave amt of fruit btw, and about 25-30 grams of fat in a day.

So I get it gone..and then back again...gone back...then it is time to look to your partner. I have found that my dh keeps giving it back to me. Yes your dh can get a yeast infection, though he will generally not know it !!

My dh loves his beer and I am sure that does not help his natural defenses. So if I get rid of it again this week and then it comes back again he is going to have to take the Dulfican for me. He has before and it has worked.

Me too for over 40 yrs!!! Using raw Vinegar douche keeps the Ph level down so the yeasties won't grow...I know douche is bad, but medications are worse. Adding a few drops of tea tree oil/grapefruit seed oil also helps. Then RAW totally cleans you up. Simple things to remember...no pantyhose...cotton panties only...or nothing. Wear a housecoat/robe/muu-muu when hanging out (ha!) to let things 'breathe'. Bathe with only water, no soap so natural oils are replaced. Yeaaaarrrrs of ideas here! xoxox

I've been wearing nothing in an effort to see if that would help. Plus I'm a teacher and have been off work for the summer so I've even been wearing really loose fitting shorts with nothing under.

I have heard that the yeast makes you crave carbs and sweets, both of which I have a problem with.
