I have been reading The China Study. It's a great book and the results of a 27 year study backed by Oxford University, Cornell and the Chinese Academy of Alt. Medicine. The author is a scientist and grew up on a meat and dairy farm. He went on to study diet and nutrients and ended up being involved with this study. I am only on the 2nd chapter, but I went to a talk that our hospital was having on the results and know the background of the book. The study resulted in over 8,800 statistics that showed guess what..... we need to be eating a PLANT based diet to prevent and cure diseases. Although does not advocate a completly raw diet, it is a great book to read and mention in conversation to those who think that you need to eat meat to be healthy as it is the largest study, done in scientific settings, on diet and nutrition ever conducted. They actually found that they could grow cancer cells by introducung meat protein, and stopping the growth with plant protein. Also, since it is more of a "mainstream" book, may hold weight with SAD people...check it out!

Yes, this is a great book! Dr. T. Colin Campbell did an interview on Raw Vegan Radio not too long ago also. To listen: http://www.rawveganradio.podomatic.com/

It's right below Dorit Dyke. :D
