Seaweed Salad - Raw?

I was at the sushi counter and asked the guy if the seaweed salad was raw and he said yes... but I'm not sure he understood what I meant. I've been eating it, hoping it's raw. Does anyone know how they prepare this?

I'd never heard of it so I did a quick search and turned up a bunch of recipes. Here are 4 of them. As you can see, none are raw but some could probably easily be made raw.
